Leaving blinds behind

Not sure what to do here really. We have blinds in all our rooms, 3 bed house, and were planning to leave them behind with no charge to our buyers who have paid the full asking price.
I thought we should charge around £200.00 but Mr D thinks we should leave them with no charge as the buyers are paying full price. What do you think?:undecided

Would they be any use to you in your new house, would they even fit?
If they refuse (as they may want to install their own blinds/curtains) you may have to remove them yourself, which could be a faff on.
Honestly if they are custom fit to the house, no use to you, I would just leave it. Seems a bit of a petty thing to bring up if you werent planning on taking them with you anyway.0 -
When I move on I always leave all blinds and curtains. I like to have a fresh start and to be honest blinds are unlikely to fit or match a new place. Unless you need to £200 I'd agree with Mr D.0

If they don't pay £200, will you take them with you?
Will they fit the windows of your new house? If not, what then?0 -
I would think that blinds are fixtures, and hence are part of the sale unless expressly agreed otherwise...
In any case, is the house so cheap or your blinds so valuable for this to be a concern?0 -
Leave them the chances of them fitting in your new house is slim anyway.
You will no doubt want new curtains or blinds at your new house anyway0 -
Im in process of buying first house.. I didnt even know that these things could be taken by the seller, I thought they were just left.
What on earth are people going to do with window size specific blinds or curtains and with carpets?!?!
Some people are pathetic.0 -
To be honest, I am not sure if they would fit, I just hate leaving stuff behind, silly I know.:o
I think we will leave the blinds behind and just put them down as fixtures and fittings to be included, they can then take them down if they want.
Thank you for your advice.0 -
I always leave curtains and blinds behind for buyers as I find it a pretty poor show, and quite mean,to find bare windows left for me when buying a property.
As others have said, blinds are made to fit particular windows, so no good to you elsewhere. Pretty much the same with curtains.
If someone offers full asking price you should be thanking your lucky stars and doing everything you can to keep them sweet. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Exactly. I've seen one case where the light fittings and switches have been taken, leaving bare wires poking out. Some vendors really need a good slap (not suggesting the OP is one of these people, obviously).0 -
OP - regardless of whether you wanted to ask for payment have you asked the buyers whether they actually want the blinds?
They may think they are hideous and be the first things to be going in a skip0
