Help! Debt

  • Hi

Sorry for the confusion. The bills + food come to £1250. We pay £625 each. We split the food bill even though I have the 3 kids. My partner always pays for meals out, holidays etc. We have cut all the utilities, phone etc.
The grocery bill was £350 but through using the old style board I have cut to £200. Our rent + council tax is quite high, however we cannot move at the moment.

Thanks for the kind words.Trying to keep the beasties out :D

Once the cc's are cleared going to overpay egg loan and clear as soon as possible. Thanks to this site and Martin's book I'm on the way to being debt free. It is possible if you are willing to change your thinking and go without.
The only money I spend on myself at the moment is mag subs and a haircut every 6 weeks. I spend the minimum on the kids. We eat cheaply. Christmas will be paid for with Ebay/ Amazon sales. I also worked hard and got promoted.
Sorry if this sounds condescending it's not meant to.
I've also realised with my DD being really poorly a little while ago that I would of been unable to stop working to look after her if I had had to because of all the debt. This has made me even more determined to clear it.

    Sorry to ramble

I need to update my SOA and debt amount as I have fell off the wagon lately. The debt is not clearing as quick as i would like due to all sorts of reasons. In fact the CC debt has risen.:o Will start posting again I think as it will help to keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm so mad at myself.

Don't sweat it - that's why wagon trains usually move slowly... so you can catch them up again.

People are still here to help!

    congrats on the turn around..

You could also ask the kids to help pay some rents and costs of living. Sounds like they are old enough to help out.

I know a lot of kids these days expect their parents to look after them til they are over 30+.

    Hi
I will do as soon as they can:D
Son is 16 and doing his GCSE's at the moment. Eldest daughter is 19 and just getting back on her feet properly again after a serious illness in October.
At least son will have a job over the summer and so will be able to buy all his own clothes at last!!
