Well thanks to this site I found out about one tel and 18866.
I signed up with onetel who were having - and more importantly still have! - a promotion where you can have free weekend and evening calls for nothing for a whole year (normally £3.99 per month) and ALSO give you a £20 credit.
In addition to this I use 18866 for geographical calls before 6pm.
I try and not use 0870 and 0845 numbers where ever possible by using https://www.saynoto0870.com
more info can be found at https://www.18866.com & https://www.onetel.co.uk
Hope this is of use to you2014 Target;

Good post, mountain, but please anyone signing for Onetel use Martin's link for Onetel which can be found here as this way MSE gains a small contribution which enables Martin to keep the site ad-free, run the forums and donate money to charity

Hi
Just a quick update.
Through this site I have changed all my shopping/spending habits.
I use cash all the time.
I never buy anything full price anymore.
I have cut the food bill by £100+ a month by using this board and scouring the supermarkets for bargains.
I have done a car boot sale.
I have sold things on Ebay including my beloved designer handbag. (I decided that I would rather use a carrier bag than have any debt)
I keep a fully detailed spreadsheet of all my expenditure.
I stick to my budget!!
I have involved the kids, who have been really helpful.
I aim to clear all my cc's by June 2006.
I then aim to pay extra off my loans to be totally debt free by 2008.
Thank you to every one on these boards whose advice and money saving ideas have really helped me to take control of my life.

Hoorah :j Received a £64 tax rebate in the post this morning. Sold stuff on Ebay this week £58. Saved over £50 at Boots by using all the latest offers/coupons. Mystery shopping at the weekend, free meal out = no meal at home and I get paid to do it!!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to post all the latest figures etc because I've slacked off a little bit lately. I've been saving money in some area's but not in other's. It's easy to get carried away using all those Ecoupon's etc and still end up spending more than you have budgeted for. Due to this site I receive free stuff/coupons through the post everyday. Daughter also needed a new (old) car. She needs one as she takes the kids to school most days (we live 12 miles from school) I have done carboots, ebay, amazon but NO EXCUSES
I seem to of come to a standstill in clearing the debt.

I would like to post my daily spends/incomes on this board for a little while so that you can all keep me on the straight and narrow
I am determined to do this. I would have £1,000 extra a month without debt.0 -
Forgot to say with snowballing Credit Card Debt should be cleared in March 2007. Should also be due a pay rise in December/january which will cover the £160.00 that I will not be getting from my daughter.
Thanks

Don't get discouraged by slacking off, nobody's perfect. You are still doing very well, and to be debt-free in March '07 is something soon to look forward to. Look at it this way; before you know it this year will be over and then just a few more months to your debt-free date!

Hi Pink fairy
your post states you pay £200 a month on food. May i ask how many this is for and what confused me is you already pay so much to shared bills with your partner, does this not include food?
or does he also pay £200 a month. Just seemed allot to me that all. Sorry if i've read it wrong but on the whole it doesn't look like you're doing too bad, you're managing to pay off your debts which is brill keep positive don't let the beasties in :T :j 0
