I recently took my car to a garage because it wouldnt start. After 4 hrs of diognostics they told me it would cost £1200 to fit a new fuel pump and that should fix it.Before I gave the go ahead I asked if that would do the trick and was told pretty sure it would. It didnt and they carried on doing tests ect to try and find the problem then after 3 wks I was asked what I wanted to do basically they couldnt find the problem and they had had enough. So I said I will pick the car up and take it somwhere else.the car is no better than when I took it in.If I am charged for time should I and do I have to pay?

4hrs seems a long time to find the problem was your fuel pump, i thought they could trace faults on modern cars just by hooking them up to a machine, but maybe it's right it's not like they're trying to charge you for 4 day.
And yes i think you need to pay.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

So you're basically looking for people to tell you what you want to hear?0 -

But that's what happens when people are trying to fix things, faults could have several answers.
It's like my central heating broke at home in November and they ordered a part to fix it but it didn't work I think it was March and after 5 visits and ordering different things that they finally told me to scrap it. Your car is similar, they're doing their best if you're not happy go to a different garage.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

So what makes you think you're going to get different answers on the same forum, but in another section?
