My favourite predator, said very much tongue in cheek, Mr T have been ringing for the past three days. I've blocked their number on my phone so it doesn't actually ring, just tells me there's a missed call. They've even tried calling from a withheld number, which also doesn't ring. The reason for their calls! I paid them £1.61 this month instead of £1. Now they've written telling me I've failed to make the agreed payment this month. Ha, I've overpaid you you total numpties, why is that a problem. Honestly, they make my blood boil sometimes.
I don't know whether to write to them with an up to date financial statement or send them a picture of a brain as they are clearly lacking in that department. Yet again I so wish they'd accepted my F&F payment offer like they did with OHs account. Perhaps it's time to offer it again and see if they accept this time, it's only been 3 months since they refused my 2nd appeal though.
Had a lovely day with DGDs today, making Christmas hug boxes and cards. I did have to help DGD2 make my card as she insisted the first one she made had to be for me, which was rather sweet actually. DGD1 wanted to send a joint card to me & OH so she had enough card to make her other Grandparents one too. In the end I persuaded her that they'd like a different card, made with the glitter card used to make the hug presents.
Christmas decorations are up, the house looks very festive, most of my present shopping is done, I just need to sort through and write a final list of any bits needed and then write my cards.
I'm considering visiting DM this weekend as OH is working but on the other hand I rather like the thought of a weekend of having the house to myself. See how I feel tomorrow.
10 weeks today I arrive in Oz

Hi Granny,
Give Mr.T another go on the F&F
Just as a suggestion.......make a formal complaint in writing advising them of the distress caused by bombarding you with calls when you were actually paying more than the agreed payment. Tell them how ridiculous this is and you have lost sleep as a result because you were tossing and turning just not understanding what this could be about. Remind them that you offered them a chance to get rid of you and put a new F&F figure to them to consider at the same time.
It might work? They are well in the wrong?

Oh Granny so counter intuitive isn't it, but I am convinced the ONLY way forward is literally do as you say you are going to, nothing more. If you give even a penny more it seems to indicate they can squeeze you for more.
I'd stick to one more month payment of £1 And then do an updated SoA and offer again a different F&F settlement. Moral to that story I am afraid is DONT give them any more.
Hope you can ignore them for a bit longerStart info Dec11

Thanks both, I'm so annoyed with myself for doing a balance tidy as the odd 61p was annoying me. They tried ringing again yesterday but I've decided for now, to do nothing. I haven't missed the payment so haven't broken the agreement. I will do as you both suggest after the new year, unless they write to me again in the meantime.
They won't really be getting a financial statement either as my situation is this: I get £205pm, I have 5 predators, I pay each predator £1pm and use the other £200 for my essentials. I found by including OHs income and expenses last time just confused the numpties at Mr T, (who to date have been the most awkward). In January I will write to all 5 predators informing them that my situation hasn't improved nor is it likely to for the foreseeable future. That way hopefully they will all remain quiet while I'm in Oz.
I'm not looking to go back to work until at least next summer depending on when the 2nd op gets done and my recovery. Of course I also need to find a job.Targets

The latest numpty is H5BC - I reported a month or so ago that my loan/Od was showing as closed, partially settled on my credit file, whereas my CC was not. Two weeks ago I received a letter saying the account was being passed to H5BC recoveries, I was slightly confused but not concerned as I knew I'd cleared them with a F&F. So imagine my dismay when I received a letter from them on Friday asking why I hadn't paid it. I checked my bank and the money had gone out and not been returned so MC5, H5BC's then named collections arm had been paid.
I rang H5BC recoveries only to be told they'd received the payment but because I'd also paid them my £1 token payment on 1 Oct I'd broken the agreement. They'd written to me on 21 Sept but I didn't receive their letter until 5 Oct, whereby on receipt I'd F&F them immediately. After a few harsh words with them and a 2 minute wait on hold whilst she went off to see what she could do the numpty came back and said they'd accept my error and reinstate the F&F agreement, Mark my account as partially satisfied and close it.
I learned two valuable lessons from this
1) standing orders once cancelled do not provide you with sufficient payment details if the money goes missing. Next time pay by faster payment and print out the payment details.
2) do not make token payments whilst in discussion with predators
I had a very uncomfortable night on Friday wondering where my £1600 had gone and if I'd ever get it back but it's all resolved now, thank goodness.
In other news my Christmas present shopping is completed. I haven't gone mad but each gift is special this year as I have a bit of money to spend and may not have it next year. I've got some real bargains and am pretty pleased with myself.
I've also bought DGD1s and DSs birthday presents as their birthdays are 1st & 19th Jan respectively. I also bought the same gift for DGD2 as I had an Arg0s voucher that needed to be used by 24 Dec.
I didn't go to DMs, I'm going to visit in the NY instead as I know she'll want to see me before I go to Oz.
OH worked all day yesterday and is working again this afternoon, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet, although things are good between us right now.
My weight loss continues - I've ring fenced some money to buy clothes in Feb for Oz. I don't intend spending a lot as I plan to continue losing whilst there but I need to buy clothes that fit properly and will still fit when I'm 2/3 stone lighter.
For the first year in I don't know how long I'm really looking forward to Christmas.

Hi Granny
HSBC - you couldn't make it up could you? The worrying thing is the numpty you were speaking to probably thought this was the norm - the computer tells us what to think and it tells us whether an agreement is open or closed......artificial intelligence.....obey the machine
Great one this......the 'retrospective reenactment of an historic F&F, finally corrected by manual intervention :rotfl:'
The only thing that is real is the solid gold 24 carat 'numptieness :rotfl:!!!!

granny I had the same thing happen to me after I had agreed and paid L1oydstsb a F and F settlement. Three months later I received a letter from L10yds asking me for over £3000 because I had defaulted on a payment!!!! It is stressful and unnecessary for you or anyone else to suffer stress as a result of their incompetence. As Brogden said you couldn't make it upbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thanks both, it really is frustrating to say the least but fingers crossed it's all sorted now.
On the subject of sorting, I had a sort out of clothes today, (I still have more to do) and have 3 bags of too large clothes ready for fleabag, cash trade or charity. It feels like such a fantastic reason to waste money, not very MSE I know but hopefully with a few staples I will have a much pared down selection of great clothes, rather than just what fits.
One more weigh in before Christmas with 1.5lbs to go to 3 stone off. Feeling good.
Had DGD1 after school today, took her for tea & cake, although she decided to have flavoured milk instead. 50p for a shot of flavouring and then helped ourselves to milk from the accoutrements bar. Her chocolate cake looked amazing but even though she left some I didn't finish it off for her. OH had a chocolate bun, I just had coffee. OH & DGD then went to M&5 to buy me a present from the 3 DGC, she insisted it was from him as well though. So cute.
Tomorrow OH & I are collecting DGD2 after school. Instead of chocolate cake she wants cucumber. Funny little soul that she is adores it and can eat a third of a stick if available, together with cherry tomatoes. Followed by 1 choc biscuit & milk.
Thurs I'm taking DDIL & DGS out for a wander around the shops.
OH finishes for Christmas after nights on Thurs and then is off until 6th Jan.Targets

How cute is this? Wish I'd seen it when I had the girls, perhaps we'll do it on Christmas eve.
