Does anyone else have trouble with remembering to eat?

I don't much like cooking (I'm actually pretty bad at it!) and am often overwhelmed at the thought of preparing a good, nutritious meal.
My body doesn't let me forget, - I get horrible low mood (!) and/or I get fatigued and feel queasy or faint which I guess is to do with low blood sugar.
OP why not get some fairly no-hassle foods in, like fresh soups? Then all you've got to do is heat them up, and they're often pretty good, ingredients-wise.0 -
when i forget meals, then feel queasy and faint later in the evening, some yogurt and a sliced banana is quick and easy to prepare.
peanut butter on toast is also a good one, as peanuts contain proteinloves to knit and crochet for others0 -
Before i met my other half i was quite content with grabbing a sandwich or a bowl of soup. cooking for one just didn't seem worth it when i was sitting eating by myself at the coffee table!
These days, like some of the other posters, i wish i knew when to stop! Haha but at least now I've rediscovered my love of cooking. Just need to switch to healthier alternatives!0 -
frequently forget then wonder why I feel washed outI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I understand where you are coming from - I can actually go a couple of days before I realise I've not had anything substantial to eat - it's bad really, but with living on my own that motivation to cook for myself is just not there.
I know someone has mentioned about making a list of your favourite foods - but just lately nothing appeals to me, not even my most favourite meals in the world, for example I love Sunday Roast and just end up eating a few morsals and pushing the rest around my plate.0 -
As soon as I've finished one meal I then start thinking about the next one, wishing the time away until I can eat again.
I don't think I've ever forgotten to eat, but I know my husband has. He frequently used to forget to have lunch when he worked in London in a stressful job and I just couldn't understand how (as someone who thinks about food constantly) he could forget to eat. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -
You're certainly not alone.
I ensure I always have a small tin of baked beans in the cupboard. Plus a jacket potato. And I make large amounts of stews which I freeze in individual portions - just remove them from the freezer, bung them in the microwave for a couple of minutes to remove the lid, then cook them in the saucepan for a few more minutes.
The fact I've always got something quick and easy, with variety, makes it easier to make up the meals when I do forget or just can't be bothered.
But if it gets too late at night when I remember, a quick bowl of cereal at least keeps me going overnight and I make a special effort the next day.0 -
You're far from alone. I'm not as bad about it now because I recognise how important it is to keep my blood sugars stable etc but when I was a teenager/young adult I used to forget to eat and then end up feeling feint. My mom used to tell me how although I was a smart kid and did well at school etc 'it takes a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.'Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

guilty:o
with being unemployed and kids flown the nest, tend to forget
no one to cook for & no consistent schedule, so normaly just have a cup of tea and maybe toast or biscuit and then forget, also with lack of money & stress, not really motivated to eat:(0 -
me too forget to eat regularly and then nearly pass out and then think 'oh I must be hungry'
worse when feeling down the last thing I want to do is eat but I must as diabetes does not wait til your feeling more upbeat:rotfl:63 mortgage payments to go.
