I thought group sales staff are given guns to hold to customers heads to get them to accept. Lol

Quite, unless she was selling it to a simpleton

I fail to see how you could have qualified for an Advantage Gold account if you were unemployed and claiming JSA.

If credit scoring is passed then it doesn't matter. I guess 'unemployed' 'domestic responsibilities' etc score lower than other options but wouldn't preclude someone from having the account.

Hi, to my suprise I have just cancelled my AG product on my Natwest current account. I only had the AG product because I was told a few years ago when I wanted an over draft facility, that I needed the AG product in order to qualify for the overdraft. I was also told that I could not cancel the AG product on my current account until I paid off the Overdraft. I never made use of any of the AG items. So just made an official complaint today to Natwest about this.

True, but in my case I was told the AG product was a requirement for an Overdraft. This was a few years ago now.
  • I'm only 18 Andhave been forced a gold advantage account and on an apprentice wage I can't really afford it, the lady at natwest rushed through and gave me no other accounts to choose from and said I cannot cancel without there being A fee

Do you use any of the "perks"?

    If not, complain.

Definatly make a complaint, I didn't use any of the perks thats why I made a complaint a few days ago. I didn't want or need any of the perks that the AG Product offered, I just needed an OverDraft. I paid £12.95 for 8 years, and never made use of AG, but i was reminded on one occasion that my overdraft limit could be increased because i had the AG Product. Something fishy going on here, just another way of the bank making money for nothing.
