That's a silly idea. Why not run the 63 for the whole year?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I never thought of this. Now you've mentioned it I'm not going to leave the house. 2013 has got unlucky written all over it.I'm retiring at 55. You can but dream.0

I'm specifically waiting fot 13 as I was born on a Friday 13th0

Some people do have their own little foibles though. Father in law won't buy a green car, says they are unlucky based on the fact he's only have had two accidents and both were in green cars. He knows there is no logic to it but until something happens in another coloured car he's standing by it.
Bet a few people on here had their lucky pulling pants as a teenager!
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Do people still use the plate as an indicator of age rather than the actual year? This scheme has been around over 10 years now...I need to think of something new here...0 -
This the problem is that the vast majority of us are not of the superstitious persuasion but there are a lot of people who are. The resale value of a vehicle with the 13 plate on it will be lower. This is because you will be ruling out members of the population who are.
Wrong yes.
Logical no but it will happen.
Also think that the DVLA suggestions will be a nightmare so in theory you could have a 62 plate 2012 - sept onwards. then a 62 plate 2013 until sept. But at the same time you will also be able to buy a 2013 13 plate?
Mmmm sounds terrible. Two plates running concurrently?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
I have heard of a woman who doesn't like having 13, or numbers that add up to 13 in a numberplate!
Anyway the Chinese think that 4 is an unlucky number. So has anyone with an '04' reg car had bad luck? Who's right?!!0 -
I reckon new car sales will drop and DVLA personalised plates will increase for 6 months next March haha
Anyone planning to purchase in March '13 will do so and pooh pooh the unlucky myth ... however it may be worth considering attaching a personalised plate to the vehicle when selling it on or even PX'ing :rotfl:
What's the betting the Unlucky 13 myth will spread and put people off buying when some driver (driving a '13) reeks havoc in it and then decides to sell their story (with all the trimmings attached) to some female gossip mag

However, the VRA has warned this could pose a "challenge" to the used-car market because people who don't pick up on the one-off change might undervalue a car on the basis that it has the apparently older number plate.
Would serve them right for being superstitious. Pay for your superstitions!0
