Car Number Plates - Would you Avoid the Number 13?

You may also have a valid reason not to get road tax with next year expiry date.0

I change my car every 3 years (never pay for an MOT) I'm due to change my car next year, but no way will I be buying/driving a 13 plate, Yes I am very superstitious! So I have a problem I either change this year, before the 13 comes out or I wait an extra 6 months for the 63 and pay for an MOT.......decisions decisions lol0

I would have no problem buying and driving a 13 plate... but... seeing as other people are generally quite weird and random I wouldn't buy one just because I think the 13 will hurt the ability to resell it.
Of course, if there were some absolutely amazing offers because dealers couldn't shift em, i'd happily buy at 30% off0 -

I have an 11 plate and the finance deal runs out in spring 2013 so Ford will probably be trying very hard to convince me to roll it over instead of paying the final payment to keep it. So if they had a very, very good deal I might think about it. Reselling private to somebody isn't a factor - I'd either be trading in or running into the ground.
There is a little bit of me that says it would be mildly amusing to have SE13 and my initials which would mean nothing to most people. (SE13 is the postcode for Lewisham, South London where I live.)I need to think of something new here...0 -

Hmm, that's an interesting point. Whilst you personally may not be superstitious, maybe the perceived future problem of reselling the car could put a few people off?0 -

Although I'm very superstitious, the number 13 on the registration plate wouldn't worry me... But I do believe that any car with an airbag is unlucky, or ones with ABS brakes and roll cages. A lucky car wouldn't need those safety features. Simple common sense!0 -
It seems the DVLA have given the subject some thought and you may be given the option of having an alternative to a 13 registration:
