It wouldn't stop me, are people really so dull of wit to think 13 is unlucky in this day and age?
Have they never thought to find out why it was considered an unlucky number?

I'm still of the opinion that we should ditch 6 monthly number plates changes all together, I don't think they serve that much of a useful purpose to warrant existing.

The bi-annual dates exist only due to pressure from the motor manufacturers. Originally we had one massive sales month for the keep up with the Joneses and to smooth out production runs this became the system we have. The idea of it being necessary for law enforcement to have such a fixed system in the 21st Century with ANPR technology is just a laugh: Equally if everyone had their own plate or put on a vanity plate, ordinary members of the public would probably have better memories of such plates being involved in incidents.

However, back to the point, yes probably some people do have ridiculous "fears" of certain numbers, but on the positive slant, any quality marque car that I have sold with a vanity plate with 13, 17 or 18 featured in them have all flown out the door (at asked price!) to Chinese buyers.

I don't think the pope will be murdering any more knights though

    13 loops on a hangman's noose (doesn't scare me :D )
    13 at The Last Supper.

There are loads of episodes of the number 13 which may make it seem special but there a loads of episodes of many other numbers too.

Thank you to those who have contributed so far. As it stands; worried jim, bazzyb, & Barneysmom have no problems with the number 13 on their cars registration plates.

Surely there are some superstitious members out there?

Are any MoneySavers prepared to admit that they would shy away from owning a car with ‘13’ on the number plates?

Well I'm not looking to buy a new car but 13 on the registration plate would not bother me. A long time ago I had a car with 666 on the registration plate - I called it Damian.
