    What a day!

Didnt get in from looking after DGS (and letting workman in DD's flat) till after 7.30pm so worn out.

Spent £2.85 on bus fare and coming home, driver wouldnt stop and let me off, leading to long walk for me and a big complaint to the bus company

    £6.14 in Co-op.

    £1.00 in newsagents.

53p in Tesco Express on a YS sandwich(27p) and a YS chicken pasta salad thing (26p).....NEVER EVER seen reductions that low and felt compelled to buy something at those prices, sadly no meat or meals or anything that was mega useful.

Still......if I am still tired tomorrow, at least I have my sarnie and pasta to eat without cooking :D

    Signature updated.

Had a spend of £5.28 today - apples/kiwi fruit/garlic/cranberry juice/frozen peas. Doing quite well this month after spending quite a bit in May.
We had HM salmon quiche, HM garlic wedges and salad - grated carrot/lettuce & spring onions for dinner.

I got some pizza's from Mr T's today, I went through the self service and did them seperately, the poor assistant had to keep coming over to me to verify the coupons, when I got home I realised I had left one behind, it's a good job it only cost me 40p.

My Mum has given me some brown bread flour that was out of date last month, do you think it will be OK to use.

Have a good look at it (goes greyish if damp/mildewy) and a good sniff (smells musty, sort of "off-oilish" if going rancid) and check for creepy crawlies.....

But I have used out-of-date (but carefully checked) flour with no problems.

I would just check that it hasn't got any flour weevils, but otherwise, yes I would use it. :) What do other people think?
Thankyou, I think what I will do is use it all this weekend then freeze the bread. I just hope the breadmaker can cope.:rotfl:

Well, the JJ herby bread went down a treat with the kids and me...it was yummy!
I followed the recipe exctly but they were still a bit doughy in the middle. Not sure what i did wrong. If i had left them in the oven longer, then they woudl have been too brown on top...anyone know what i did wrong? JJ?

The centre should be moist and cheesy but not doughy.
It sounds like you added a wee bit more liquid than was needed.
You will perfect it next time!!!:T

This is the apricot, cherry and nectarine crumble I made tonight. Odd combination of fruit - but all needed using up. I added some OOD muesli to the crumble mix.
