If a freezer is full and the electrics go, things can be fine for a day or 2 as long as the door is not opened. I'm sure it would be fine for the dog.
It would do you the added service of filling your freezer space up to reduce running costs until you restock it?
I'm going to give that a bash JJ - I'll get a load of veg at Mr A so I can make up her portions & hopefully it'll last her a while- thanksGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

What a bummer about the freezer Rising. Big hugs.
Just done the shopping and even with a £4 off voucher managed to spend £30 in Mr S. It did include dog food but didn't seem to be much for my money. It'll get me through to the next month's challenge but not much further.
So I'm over budget by £8 or so - could be a lot worse.0 -

Bluegreen143 - When DH does that I don't count it. :shhh: I have to count today's though because I gave him the list (but he did stick to it).
Feeling rubbish as I've got a police notice to say I ran a red light - I thought I might have done, I had the sun visor down on the only sunny morning on my way to work last week. Sun was right in my eyes, even with polarised sunglasses on.

Welcome back helen jelly, hope you had a nice holiday. Spent another £12 odd in L!dl's today. Will add it to the running total in my sig when I dig out the receipt for the exact amount.
Got enough meat for next week's meals now, and with the 20+ meals in the freezer I'm hoping to do well next month. Will officially declare my June total tomorrow, as I start my July budget on Monday.0 -
Afternoon to all, have tried to catch up reading everyones posts but not quiet as much as I have liked, but to those who need hugs for whatever the reason, I send you my very best :grouphug: and to those who are keeping within their own budgets I salute you:T.
My weekly spend at Mr M's had to be within £20 this week - had a horrendous month with extras needing to be paid out that I wasn't expecting - but hey ho with help from reading others posting on here it gives me the strength to never give up ,so thank you to all.
My total came to £18.36 but I know I need cooking bacon (out of stock) and more bread at some point -best bargain was a pack of Mr M's best smoked salmon down from £4 to 99p -which with a couple of dollops of double cream pinched from my Dad added to garlic, onion, chives and lemon ,and a glass of white wine, then mixed through pasta made a terrific easy tea for three last night. Plus last bit of salmon I put in freezer for another day.
Anyway off to update totals, check freezer and cupboards, take some painkillers(oh I know how to treat myself! my knee giving jip again!)then catch up reading posts.

Rising, so sorry to hear your freezer-tastrophe. Sounds very much like something I would do! In fact, two years ago, ex oh turned off the plug in the outhouse after running the lawnmower, only for me to find a week later, it was the freezer as well! It's so hard to watch all that food go to waste.
Managed to do my weekly shop and stick to my list! And I took the children! We bought fruit, milk and frozen peas, which was all that was on the list. Spent a grand total of £6.01. Chuffed with that. Will really help to bring up my daily allowance (if I can stay away from the shops next week!).
Just enjoying my risotto after working hard at the summer fayre. I won a bottle of sprite, bottle of lemonade, radox bubble bath and three bottles of wine for £4! That'll do nicely! Plus my children weren't allowed to pay for a cake as they were 'helping' me to run the bouncy castle!

Debbiedeejay,
Lovin the salmon pasta idea! Might have to pinch that one to try. Do you reckon it would work with soft cheese as I have LOADS of lactofree soft cheese tubs in the freezer that were YS.
Came back from our walk. Really enjoyed it :j
Found a huge patch of wood sorrel so have uprooted a handful to try and start off in my own garden:T Yummy
Also saw some wild honeysuckle so have pulled up a little root to try my luck with too. The flowers are edible (not called 'honey'suckle for nothing, you know!)
A friend text earlier too to say that I invited to come over in 2 weeks time for a garden lovers gathering: a cup of tea and to natter about all things veggies n homegrown :T
I am thinking of starting off some alpine strawberry plants as mine are sending out loads of shoots and perhaps thinning out my sage seedlings to pot and take with me!!!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

When I cut the hedge the other day, managed to do the whole thing without incident and then on my way back to the garage spied a bit sticking out ..... chopped it off - along with going through the power cable:eek:
Anyway, checked the electrics in the house were OK - thankfully yes but never occurred to me to check the garage.....
Just been out to put stuff in the TD (yup, run out of hanging space and as it's towels thought I'd just do them) and ..... no beeping power in there.
Hoped it was just the socket with the TD and lights on but no it's flaming everything.
Worst of all is that the freezer is absolutely packed, incl:
£40 of dog meat I've just bought
2 whole chickens
loads (seriously!) of chicken breasts
8 packs of mince
10 packs of chicken stock DM gave me the other week
loads of packs of blackberries & apples
around 15 HM ready meals
various other bits & pieces (garlic bread, bits of cooked meats etc)
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Sorry but just so p'd off - it's a lot of money to literally have to throw in the bin (and will seriously affect the budgets)
Not sure whether to just leave it there until next bin day as it'll stink if I put in the bin now?
Pants ..... life eh!
