Rising from the ashes - hope your dog gets better soon.
I managed to get a YS chicken today which we've had roasted tonight with HM jacket wedges, gravy and veg (idea stolen from Florenceem). Currently boiling up carcass for stock for chicken stew, and 2 lots of leftover meat - one for MIL on Sunday as she doesn't like beef casserole and another lot to freeze for thai chicken curry one night for the 4 of us. So 3 and a half meals for £2.99 - I think I might be starting to get the hang of this
.
I also have meal planned for next week and have enough meals for the week apart from buying prawns and Sunday dinner; and 2 meals for following week. I've found that if I go to Sainsbugs at about 2.30pm they have YS meat and have been stocking up on that lol.
Just one question - when I defrost the chicken it is OK to cook it again in the thai curry? ThanksPay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

Really sorry! This month's GC fell apart at the seams (a whopping £167 over budget ) and I also couldn't keep up with the thread so have contributed a big fat zero of help or motivation... I'm just bloomin rubbish, but I'm sure EVERYBODY is doing so much better than me for June. :A
But, onwards and upwards and today marks the start of another GC for me as it's payday :j. So, am drawing a big black line through June's results and setting a new target of £100 for me for July, though I am determined to come in under that if possible. I don't have any stocking up to do this month, and have a freezer full of hm meals cooked ready for each day, so it's mainly veges needed. Any surplus money from this month will go towards a freezer stock up next month (I hope...this freezer just keeps on and on producing food, which is good but not when you really really want to defrost it so you can go and buy stuff...stamps foot in a mini tantrum :rotfl:
Really hope you're all doing well, and are keeping healthy & happy. Hope to keep up better next month.

Admitting to a disgustingly high £740 for June:eek: This month things have to change as we have a holiday to pay for and a small amount of debt, caused by our ridiculous overspending on food etc. last month. This month our budget for food, alcohol, cleaning stuff, laundry, toiletries, nappies, gifts, diesel, food away from home and any other odds and sods is £500 max.
Payday today so visited Ald1 and A3da and spent £107, a bit more than I wanted to but includes 3 bottles of wine, beer for DH, loads of d/w supplies, organic chicken, pork and bacon as having just started eating meat again after 25 years I am being a bit picky about the meat I eat.
Meal plan has been done for the best part of the next 2 weeks and as DH is away most of next week I will be only eating a little meat and having some cheapy meals.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Hi everyone
Congrats SB on your new job
Dizzyditzy I do the same as you and have big problems trying to stop myself buying the bargains, its sort of over taken buying clothes and shoes:o
I have done really well this week, I have 62p left over so that will go into my happy jar, and a new £10 has gone into my purse and as I have had a NSD today its still there. This week my daughter has been staying with me and I have managed to create meals out of the cupboards and freezer, so feeling good with myself, I should only need milk and fresh veg so Im hopeful for having something left in my purse next Friday:)
I went to see a friend on the way home from work today and he gave me a piece of fresh breadcrumbed plaice so I have had that for my tea, it was a YS and he wasnt going to use it so cheap tea!!:j
