Just added up all my receipts for June and it comes to £155.83,bought some YS stuff last night. Its in the freezer which I cleaned out and sorted on Wednesday.:A Looks like it should just be fresh stuff I need to buy next month.I have written out meal plan for July using all the freezer stuff and feel well chuffed.Thank you all so much for your inspiration,I would never have done this on my own.

I've just done a bit of a stock check on my fridge, freezer and cupboards and can easily make 24 meals for 2 people (so 48 servings) out of what I've got in (would have to buy fresh bits and bobs obviously):eek:

I did not realise I had so much food in! No wonder I went over budget this month. This came about because I couldn't think of what to do for dinner tonight :rotfl:I was considering a take-away, but there's no way I'm doing that now! I have food to use up. Should make it easy to stay under budget for July me thinks...

I'm the other way, have been through freezers and they are getting a bit sparse. I have lots of "odds and sodds" I have saved (bits of BBQ or pasta sauce in yoghurt pots etc) but there isn't an awful lot apart from frozen veg. I will keep running it down I think, then I will switch off the second freezer and see if we can manage with the combi, now it's just me and the tots.

Hiya, spent £31.37 in L!dl and £16.24 in MrM. Quite happy as although gone over budget, I went in with a list and mostly stuck to it, which is a first! This WILL last til next friday. DH is poorly with tonsilitis and in bed with ABs so at least it will be a no beer weekend!

    Have a good evening

Evening. Just adding a shop of £2.50 on cod liver oil tablets. Not many more spends before the end of the month! I think I'm going to come under budget for the first time ever!

    Hi
I would like to join you all if I may? Every month I think I'll post next then I forget.:o
In my house there is myself, DD(13) and DS(11). I am aiming for £30 per week for food and drink and then £10 per month cleaning and toileteries. I'll do this week then do monthly from July if that's ok. I already average £30 a week but am finding it's creeping up. I have 2 freezers so full everything is out of it's boxes:eek: all whoopsies though:D That's the problem I have to buy a bargain if I see it:o. I really look forward to learning from you all. I will keep a note in my signature.
  • Oh my :o a week seems to have flown by without my getting a chance to read the thread - as some of you may have read last weekend, Maisie (dog) has been very unwell so have had my hands full.

Thankfully, she seems (fingers crossed) to be on the road to recovery :D

Anyway, hope all OK & (((hugs))) to those in need.

Popped to Al*di today so total now standing at £95.94 / £130 - however, at least £10 of that has been chicken for Maisie (has been on the old fall back of chicken & rice for a week) but think I'll leave in the GC budget rather than moving to hers (which is also depleted due to the vets bill:eek:)

    Have a great weekend everyone:D

I have been running my cupboards down to bare to start in July, my fridge is almost empty, I figure I can start from scratch.

My partner and I both work shifts, which makes it difficult, but I am very determined.

Desperate to re-do our bathroom so every little saved is a step closer, and I feel mean always saying no treats, so savings on the bills will maybe give a little bit more room for manoeuvre on that?!

1st of July seems just enough time, to get started, I like the spreadsheet idea, but not a big computer buff... I've got a ring binder, with note pad, wallets for coupons, a calculator and pen.

I thought I could do meal plans for the month and shopping lists per 10 days (that's the shift rotation we do) keep them in the folder and have that with me when I shop.

Can stick to the lists, make sure I have coupons with and use them (just need to get into trawling Internet etc for them) and use my calc to see what best offers are.

I live very very close to a JS, so tend to always shop there. However work close to a Morrisons, popped in with a colleague the other day seems good so might try there too, maybe split shop.

I thought about doing comparison on My Supermarket but only JS on there?!

I might do a recon trip on Monday to compare myself...

I really hope I can get up to all of your standards... Hopefully I can come back in a month with big savings?!!

Fingers crossed, thanks for all the tips and support, I've never really done the forum thing before but everyone is so friendly and knowledgable I'm hooked now!!
