    Hi guys,just catching up.

Cleggie - Sorry to hear about the burglary but your puppy sounds adorable, so at least one good thing came out of it.
Fozzie - Hope everything is okay with DD, I've had 6 moles removed so far and they all tested negative so fingers cossed.
JJ - hope your eyes get better soon.

Been shopping today and updated my total. SO far within budget and my end of month is the 20th so fingers crossed. I went to A$da earlier got 2 YS Quiches half price the rest of the YS selection weren't very discounted. A load of cat treats £1 a pot, 2 loaves of Kingsmill at 2 for £2 but I also had 30p off coupons, a couple of pizzas for DH 2 for £4 because I'm off for a couple of days again. I then popped to M&S to do the £10 meal deal and for once actually stuck to it and didn't add any extras.

This afternoon I knocked up a spot the meat chili using a tin of green lentils I've had in the back of the cupboard for ages. Most of which will be packaged up and frozen for later.

That brings me to my big brag!!:D Yesterday I spent the evening cleaning out my kitchen cupboards and re arranging everything. Which really helped in knowing what I've got and planning to use stuff up.:A

    Check me out...

I went to a$da today to stock up on tissues, paracetomol, ibruprofen and throat sweets (can you guess I'm feeling poorly?!!), and of course went to the ys section. Picked up a £4 pack of burgers, marked £1.60 and a £4.25 pack of mince marked at £1.70, then put them back and walked away!! So, I've now had a nsd for the gc - I'm so proud of myself! I looked at them in my hands, and thought "Don't get them, you muppet, you've already got mince, and you don't need burgers!! Plus, you're trying to clear out the freezer, not fill it up..." Apparently berating myself in the sm aisles works a treat!!

JJ and Cleggie - thinking of you.

Hello all I've been reading this thread for a bit, and have learn't so much from all you clever people . We have come to to the conclusion that our grocery shopping has got total out of hand and we need to do something! Spending way too much on rubbish and every tea time not having any idea what we can make . My plan is to meal plan is to meal and cook more from fresh and stop spending a fortune on processed rubbish . I can't wait to join the GC is it best to start at the beginning of July or start my month on the 20th June when my hubby gets paid ? Also thanks to this thread had a little victory today we ran out of coffee so popped to the shops as hubby can't function without it! And only bought coffee, if I hadn't have read this would have easily have come out £15 pounds lighter with stuff I don't really need, so a big thank you .

Hi lboppy, people start the challenge at different time of the month depending on what works best for them. My GC runs from the 1st of each month but that is because my Dh gets paid on the last day of the month :)

Not much else to report except an NSD yesterday and am enjoying my new job and have so far saved all my tips and not been tempted to spend them :A

Have a good fathers day, I have given dh a lie in and the kids are going to help make breakfast in bed - should be interesting!

We start on the first, just because I find it easier to keep track of - hubby is paid on the 20-somethingth and I'm paid every 4 weeks, so we just do all our budgeting by calendar month. Doesn't matter as long as you roughly stick to the same thing every month. :)
