Honest Trustworthy Dealer?

Where i take exception is the 'all dealers are !!!!!!s' message that the likes of mikey72 and a few others promote. That is very unfair to those of us who are genuinely trying to do the right thing.

I am sure you can understand that those of us who arent sheisters can take offence.

Agreed.

Though if you read the thread i keep referring to, there is an intimation from Mikey that because a fuel pump failed 2 months after purchase (of an 11 year old car) therefore the dealer would have been aware of it. Thats simply not true. Fuel pumps just fail.

There are those who post on these forums whos aim doesnt seem to be to help those who post with problems, but merely to stir up a situation, both on here and for the O/P's with mis-advice and misinformation.

If i was a mechanic and taking my own time to offer advice and to help on forums, that would be seen as a good thing. If was a doctor offering free medical advice on forums, that would be great, but because i sell cars it seems to be open season to have a go and use misinformation to muddy any usefulness of responses.

Maybe i should just not bother and just leave it to the armchair experts

So remind us about your posts droning on about fuel pumps being built to last longer than two months thus the dealer should pay for the replacement, even though the fuel pump was eleven years old, in an eleven year old car?

Can you point us to the bit in the SOGA whereby the dealer must ensure all parts on any used car they sell are actually new?

I've directed you that many times now, but you dont seem to be capable of admitting you were wrong?

You're a stuck record mate, you come on and ruin every thread about car dealers, and if you look at it, you'll find it wasn't just me saying that, but it was just you telling the customer to put his hand in his pocket, and forget about his rights. This is another thread you've jumped into and dragged off to bang your drum on, so you're on your own on this one now. I doubt the op will come back, probably realised what dealers can be like.

AGAIN trying to deflect from admitting you were wrong.

I guess its more important to you to not be admit to being wrong than to ensure people are getting the correct information.
