  • Jwil it is awful. Just sorting my ironing just now and come across loads of nighties so I will need to get them into the charity shop bag too :(. Long for the sun - yes we are pleased with that but would like some more. Not going to get obsessed or anything but would like to get some more. SBO I know but I just want to stay on the same route I was on :).

Just remembered I need my car taxed and my mum always paid it for me :(.

  • Goodness it's been days since I was here. Been mega busy what with trying to get mum's house emptied and sorting out my house and garden. Not been all drudge though as we have a folk festival every July locally and it was the weekend past. I always go every day and although I felt a bit guilty attending I went all 3 days this weekend as well and had a really nice time with various friends.

I have been absolutely awful spends wise as I spent £100 at the weekend on socialising. Completely lost control at the minute and wish mum's money would come through ASAP so I can get rid of the overdraft etc and see where I stand.I have £2k on overdraft and nearly £1k on CC. I have no idea what people do for money when they have a funerals if they have no access to emergency cash. We still have a fair bit to pay out as well so I feel really sorry for folks who have nothing. I just don't know how they do it and the stress must be horrific for them.

We were looking at mum's insurance today and her documents were so pretty as they were in the old script. One was taken out in 1964 . It was for 20p per week so it will be interesting what will be paid out from that :). Anyway am off to docs as I reckon I have a chest infection :(

  • You needed to let off steam. Time to get yourself healthy, and then back into the mindset of debt busting before the money comes through just incase its a bit of a let down. x

Best win so far - holiday to Florida
  • Well I do have a chest infection. Oh Joy. I actually think I caught it from mum a couple of weeks ago but didn't do anything about it as I was so busy. Hopefully clear quickly with the antibiotics. Liver is now sore :rotfl:so I best get my a$$ in gear with the healthy eating before I really start to suffer.

My brother and his friend brought out my mum's lounge furniture today to my house and the place is looking lovely. My mum was like all older women and was quite frugal. She had 2 wee tubs that she always used for keeping half tins of soup or custard etc in , in the fridge. I found them today and bawled my eyes out. Now listening to some of her old CD's and again had a good old cry. I can just picture her sitting swaying to the music. Had some Paul Anka on and it was fab but oh the memories.

Forgot my car tax was due today but luckily my brother noticed and I have now purchased it online. No other money spent. I have enough cleaning products from my mum's to do me a year I reckon :o. 3 loads of wash dried outside today :D. All in all very busy day and rather a sad one. But I am bound to have many of those in future so I am just going to go with it. Hope everyone is well xxx

  • :j:j:j:j:j:jI am in the £12k's :j:j:j:j:j

Well I have managed to get 4 free tickets for the olympics football today so I am off to Hampden with DD, DS and DD's BF to go and watch it. Egypt v Belarus. I don't even like football but I reckoned this would be a good wee day out :D. Going to make up some rolls so we are not spending an arm and a leg whilst we are up there.Wish I was near London to go and see some of the main events but this will have to suffice. The commonwealth games will be in Glasgow so we will go and see some events there hopefully.

Some money through from mum's estate today so I will go and pay her funeral bill and I have paid off almost everything else from it so my accounts are cleared up and things are not looking too bad after all :D.
