I work in a clinic which is based in a very deprived area. And loads of the new mums spend their hard-earned £500 maternity grant on a Bugaboo or similar.
They're really not particularly exclusive!
Must bite tongue at phrase "hard earned maternity grant"
I had to pay for my Bugaboo with my own hard earned money!MFW £190,450/£141,1400 -
Crazy, I used some 3rd hand travel system that had been in the family, it was blue and I had a girl - I didnt care, Im pretty sure she didn't either, I liked the diet coke can holder on it. Then she went into that mothercare £30 pink thing. Job done. Shes now 6, no back brace required.0

OMG this thread had made me :rotfl:
I know MrsE personally so know that her daughter would have been consulted along the way, I also know that she would not buy anything that looked or seemed manky! The lady has classShe just doesn't feel the need to spend a million quid on a buggy for her grandson.
Seeing as she managed to bring her daughter up to be a fine young woman, I am guessing her daughter beleives she is capable of making decisions such as buying a suitable buggy for when she looks after little man.
As for the parents providing the buggy, the OP would not have a bar of it0 -
Sorry Dontknowanymore as I hopefully made clear in my post I did not mean to cause any offence by suggesting that the parents buy the pushchair.
I was in the same position with my own mum a while ago where she found the pushchairs (there were several of them!) I had bought for my 3 year old son too fiddly and cumbersome to use on the occasions that he was with her. Possibly because she is a pensioner, but most probably because she is my mum and was helping me out I would not have considered letting her pay for something that ultimately was for my benefit. I suspected that MrsE's daughter may have felt the same.
I ended up going on a shopping trip with my mum and son to look at pushchairs she liked and could manage to get my boy in and out of and manage comfortably. I then sneaked off with some ridiculous excuse so that I could beat her to the sales area to pay for it! :rotfl:0 -

I only ask as my baby is the same age as your grandson and we also have a bugaboo.
I would be quite offended after paying all that money for my baby to be in a good comfortable pram, that their grandparent would put them in a much inferior one.
Yes she does & I bought the Bugaboo;)0 -
