I have just bought a Zeta Vooom from a seller on Amazon, but he also sells on Ebay too if that helps. They come in different colours and mine cost £50 or thereabouts. It's extra if you want accessories.

We wanted a lightweight one to pop to the shops with too and I have to say that I love it. I found good reviews on it and someone somewhere said that it is made in the same factory as Maclaren buggies. It has this extra bit on the hood a bit like a sunscreen to shade the baby from the sun which was one of the reasons why I bought it. I would highly recommend it!
  • May I recommend the £19.99 pushchair from Tesco's? We have it for our daughter as an emergency pushchair at my dad's, and it's sturdy, very simple to use and erect, and is basic, so would be good for the once a week usage.

It doesn't come with a rain cover, so you may need to get one, but it's a good little buggy.
Sometimes you're the dog, but more often you're the tree!:D

We bought a cheapy one for my stepdaughter to use, as her all-singing, all-dancing, super-duper expensive pram was just too cumbersome with my big fat granddaughter in it! It was around £20 and she used it every day until recently as GD now insists on walking everywhere. It was similar to this.....

Your comment about the Bugaboo made me laugh! They are a bit baffling, aren't they?

Does your son / daughter know you will be getting a nan pram?

I only ask as my baby is the same age as your grandson and we also have a bugaboo.

I would be quite offended after paying all that money for my baby to be in a good comfortable pram, that their grandparent would put them in a much inferior one.

Mrs E, I'd go with a second hand Maclaren. We have 2 Techno XT's for our little boy, one we brought new for home use and the other was £10 to be kept at Nannie's house. The difference? A lot of money and a bit of use on the second hand wheels lol! All the seat covers, straps come off and go in the washing machine with ease, easy to fold, reasonably light but very sturdy, full reclining back too. Super easy to use. One thing which this model has in lockable swivel wheels...which I am informed by 2 Nannies and one Great-Nanny, is a MUST as none of the 3 of them can work swivels lol! The Quest is the next model down to the techno. It does recline a bit and is smaller and lighter but still umbrella fold.
I am sure you Daughter/Son will understand. Much better not to be wasting valuable play time trying to wrestle a pushchair you can't get on with!

That is very similar to the one I had for my son in the 70's!! Only it was a Maclaren and it had blue and white stripes like a deckchair! Brilliant it was, folded in half, and went in the back of a Mini :) It's alright these folk complaining about not using their all singing and dancing expensive prams, my daughter had one, and quite frankly you can stick them!! I couldn't work the dammed things, I'll go for ease of use every time!!:D
