All veggies? Supposed to be eaten hot?

Portion off & label & freeze as planned, and heat & enjoy the rest.
You may find the flavour seems stronger. (Flavours infusing.) As long as you're OK with that, hurrah!

We live on out of date food and rehash meals over several days nothing goes in the bin in this house, what are you waiting for
    EAT IT UP!!!
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

I usually leave our veggie soup in the slow cooker over night to cool & then have a portion for lunch the next day and freeze the rest. I think it should be fine op. I actually find the flavours infuse nicely overnight.

Yes I would too as its mostly veg anyway, but saying that as long as the kitchen is cool and not baking hot I would with meat based as well, maybe fish I would be a bit more careful with but not in a second I would portion and freeze no problems

    As in the title really.

I bought some YS stewing lamb last month that I froze immediately I got home. I defrosted it yesterday afternoon intending to put it in the slow cooker with some red wine stock which was also previously frozen.

They were both still on the kitchen counter when I got up this morning. The lamb is in a sealed container and the stock is in a foil freezer box.

I have a delicate stomach and don't know if the risk is worth it.

If the worst comes to the worst I can feed my, raw meat diet, dog and cat the lamb (but I wanted it, WAH!)

    Smell it.

I would probably cook it, it's inly been out over night but my kitchen is quite cool. It can take 12 hrs for something to defrost in there

I agree the nose test is everything if your kitchen is not an actual oven overnight (mine certainly isn't ) I would definitely cook it and enjoy it The weather at the moment isn't exactly a heatwave and its unlikely to have defrosted completely and probably feels pretty cold, or at least cool anyway

If you were going to stew it for a couple of hours anyway, I would definitely use it!!
Your cooking will kill anything and it'd be a shame if it ended up as pet food...!!?

Thanks for your swift replies :D

I'm still dithering as it's all completely defrosted (been out since 3pm yesterday) and definitely at room temperature when I touch it rather than cold or cool :(

I'm prone to having *ahem* untidy moments after eating if I'm not careful... although I do agree it would be a shame to give it to the pets I still need to provide raw meat for them and YS is the way to go I suppose.

I'm so nissed with myself, I've been doing so well since coming onto the OS forum and way of thinking too :o
