Hi,
I got a turkey breast joint and didn't realise the date was sunday. Do you think it would be ok to cook today? My Nana always used to say "we didn't have use by dates" and "if it looks ok and smells ok, it's ok"!! Was she right??0 -
Yea, smell it. If it smells ok cook it (very well!) and if it tastes fine eat itI'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

Generally if poultry is off you would be able to tell straight away. You wouldn't be able to keep it in your house it'd smell so bad!I'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

So long as you cook it *throroughly*, there shouldn't be a problem. You'd know if it smelt wrong before cooking, but just don't risk undercooking.
