    Hi,

I got a turkey breast joint and didn't realise the date was sunday. Do you think it would be ok to cook today? My Nana always used to say "we didn't have use by dates" and "if it looks ok and smells ok, it's ok"!! Was she right??

Generally if poultry is off you would be able to tell straight away. You wouldn't be able to keep it in your house it'd smell so bad!

So long as you cook it *throroughly*, there shouldn't be a problem. You'd know if it smelt wrong before cooking, but just don't risk undercooking.
    Enjoy!
