Started my long way to being debt free.

Its been 6 long years with lots of downs and some ups. No holidays and no frills living. But 3 more payments and I’ll be debt free and will have paid back nearly £40k!
I’ve often thought through the years of declaring bankruptcy instead or even just stop paying and see what happens, as after x amount of years they’ll wipe the debt anyway.
But, no, I kept on pushing on and paying my debt and I’m so happy that I’m nearly there now and I can start living a normal, hopefully decent life again.
I definitely have learnt a lesson and that’s to live within your means and if you don’t need it, you don’t buy it.Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -

Congratulations you should be so proud of yourself for facing up to the debt and working so hard to pay it off.
Enjoy your new debt free life x0 -
And today was the day, my final payment went out and I’ve now paid back all my owed money in the last few years.
I’m so chuffed I made it through, there were a couple of blips along the way and the main one losing my dad.
But 2019 is going to be my year and looking forward to it for such a long time

Well done. That's awesome :j'In the widening gap between credits and debits hangs a question: What parts of this life are you willing to give up, so you can keep on living?'
