Ok, bit of an update.
Very and Jacamo are still persisting with trying to make me pay the full amounts and are both still charging intrest, no matter how many times they have been contacted. it seems that all they care about is getting their money, which is fair enough, but I've already told them I just cannot pay the full amounts.
Halifax have now also decided to add intrest back on.
So a few issues for the moment.Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -
And now Barclays have written to me to say they will not accept any reduced payment amounts for my bank loan. A bit worried about this, as I just do not have the money to pay £12K, so really need some help from CCCS and anyone else who have dealt with them before.

Ok, Barclays have now accepted terms, so thats good news..
Just VERY seems not to care and keeps increaseing charges and the number of letters they send keep going up. Why are they being so harh, I don't know...Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -
Still not very much update on Jacamo and Very, but except for them all my creditors are being kinda helpfull. Some of the cards (Halifax) is still insiting on charging intrest, so even tough I am paying monthly, nothings actually going down on this one, but they stopped chasing me for a bit..Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0

I'm having exactly the same issues with Halifax, the interest is more than the CCCS payment to them so my debt with them is increasing.
I've fired off a letter to them about it as I've had no acknowledgement from them that I am on a DMP just a letter saying I am in arrears and need to pay over £300 to bring the account up to date!
The next is a letter mentioning the OFT and the ombudsman if I don't at least get an acknowledgement to the DMP.
I hope you get things sorted with them0 -
At the moment the following are still ignoring my every attempt to discuss and reduce my financial situation: Halifax, Very and Jacamo.
All 3 of these just don't seem to care. Have been paying through the DMP for the past 5 months now and owe even more on my Jacamo account than I did before I started. As they deem it a requirement to send me a statement every month and to charge me £15 for this?!? Even tough I asked them to stop, seems to fall on deaf ears..
Not sure what I can do about these 3, as they are making me feel misearable againDebt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -
Ok, have now finally had a letter from Halifax, but only because I found the email for their group director David Nicholson and emailed him.
They still won't take the intrest off, as they say it's fair, even tough all my other CC's have stopped charging this..
They have however offered to refund the late fee's and intrest on my account when the payment arrangmenets with my DMP were not yet in place and reduced the intrest to 1%. So at least thats a start on this one, only took about 5 letters, handfull of emails but 1 main email. If anyone wants his email address, PM and I will send it to you.
Very is however a total other kettle of fish
They just don't care and have sold my debt on to another company who don't care about my situation and insist they want the intrest and all late charges. I have told them that I am having difficulty in paying all of this and they said: Don't Care!

Quick update on this. Still not getting any help from Halifax and 1/2 of my re-payments are still just the interest.. not getting anywhere with them.
Very won't respond to me anymore as they sold the debt and can't get hold of this new company..Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -
Nearly a year in and I will have paid of £6,000 worth of my debt through my DMP.
I think calling them at my lowest point was the best thing I did that year, as it's been one hell of a year with lots of bad things and a few good things.
I think I am looking after my budget even tough it can slip once in a while.
but as I said, I'm nearly a year in and hate wishing my time away, but can't wait for 2017 when I will hopefully be debt free and can live my life again the way it should be.Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -
Bit of an update as it's been a while.
I have now been working with Stepchange for the past 18 months and have managed to pay off £7,368.00 worth of my debt, which I would have never been able to get anywhere near paying just the interest on all my cards.
Still a long way to go, but starting to feel a little happier on certain days.
Had a bit of an issue with MoneyWay the last few weeks as they kept sending me threatening letters saying they hadn't received the money, but a couple of chase emails to SC and this has been sorted.
If only Halifax would lower or take of my interest charge, as it's so high, this one will haunt me for a long timeDebt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0
