Lamewolf, I love to garden and I refuse to let all my medical problems get in the way of anything I want to do. I got all my flower beds raised and I have containers everywhere. I grow veggies in among my flowers and in among the soft fruit, I even grow tumbling Tom tomato's in hanging baskets. It has taken much scrimping and a lot of up-cycling to get here but its worth doing. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

School stuff all ready for tomorrow so i think everything is done that needs doing, so cuppa and a bit of surfing.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Lamewolf - it sounds to me like you need a visit from the flylady bus. I will take the elephant droppings home with me'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

My lovely clean kitchen got turned into a workshop by my husband last night and is now covered in a fine layer of dust and dirt:mad:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

hello Don'tknowanymore, new thread usually starts Sunday evening. If you are itching to get started then ask people to join you in a half hour challenge (HHC). It hurts less when other people join in....
Dusty - poor DS3, hope it is just heat rash. The anti-his worked for me happily.
We collected some sacks of allegedley well rotted horse manure on the way back from the farm shop. One leaked in my car and all over me which was not good. Too ripe to use so I have layered it up with the green kitchen waste and wet sawdust moutain in the hope of making a perfect compost recipe. Turned the other bins in the hope I will have some fit to use for the peas/beans/courgettes in a few weeks. Turned, hoed and raked a quarter of the veg plot which is a start. Rather sore now so back inside.
Lamb in the oven for later, and I just put a carrot cake in too. Boys want yucky wheetabix chocolate brownies so I may as well do those whilst the oven is on. WM on for the third time!0 -
Managed to make blueberry, lemon and yogurt cakes just in time for visitors... Fairy cakes are great fir emergencies as they cook so quickly. The leftovers have been frozen.
WM was on while they were here with the cleaning cloths in on 90 so it has had a good clean. Last load of washing that needs to be done before I leave is in. DW needs emptying and reloading, grass mowing and some more tidying up doing. Then a list for the cleaner and packing. Guess I'd better check the forecast for Glasgow at some point.0 -

Oh, it did work. I used one of those little salad tubs you can get from the supermarket salad bar. 12 hours later, I had to dispose of a very full container of slug soup. Did another one as I had the yeast out for a loaf, used about a teaspoon of each of sugar and yeast, if not less, (I've got normal dried yeast, not quick yeast - the stuff that's 64p for a tub with a pop off plastic lid) and had caught a bunch more by the time I was back from the garden centre.
I came back from the garden centre with a Rambling Rector, some round golden courgette seeds, some swede seeds, a reduced tub of white veronica and, especially for the birds (and the lad over the back), a pyracantha with deep red berries. Oh, and a bag of manure. That's going where his feet usually land as he comes over the wall, swinging on the bird feeder pole.
Would love some more plants, but have plenty to be getting on with for this week, at least. And the [STRIKE]Ninja Kitten[/STRIKE] Great Gullumphing Muppet With Whiskers has dug up my canes (he thinks he's a dog) so i've lost the first set of french beans and petit pois.Managed to make blueberry, lemon and yogurt cakes just in time for visitors... Cake? Now that's an idea.
I had a loaf rising on the top of the cooker whilst I went out, came back, popped it in the oven and pretty much demolished it when it was done. Perhaps cake might not go quite so quickly.
Must go, the Great Gullumphing Muppet has spotted Nemesis the Squirrel in the windowbox and is currently having coniptions amongst the venetian blinds. I'm sure Nemesis is doing this deliberately to wind GGM up.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Infact I am spending a fair amount of time lurking in OS as a whole lately! Can't be a bad thing! x
I'm just going to list some stuff on ebay then I'll do it so by 8pm
JoJo - thanks I'll mix up some yeast in a bit - I use the same stuff in a tub so have some to handLamewolf - it sounds to me like you need a visit from the flylady bus. I will take the elephant droppings home with me
That would be real funIs your garden big LW? I have heard of situations where people without gardens use yours for growing veg etc and keep the rest of the garden tidy and maybe give you spare produce in return. Not sure if this would work for you, I know you are wary of people but all gardeners are lovely
Restricted myself to just doing the strawberry patches today and sowed some spring onions and nasturtiums.
First BBQ of the year for dinner :T
Cake cooling. Kids all quite. I'm sampling the second bottle of prosecco for the street party, well it is clean sheets nightThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

We have 12 foot of pyracantha hedge, and a great monster one that grows up the house. Nothing hurts quite as much as pyracantha clippings, even through the thickest gloves. It goes through thin shoes nicely as well. My older ginger cat sprays it which strikes me as either very brave or incredibly stupid.
Still filling the WM, and the ironing mountain is staring at me 'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
How's you kitty Hex?
The world and his wife are in from the garden and trying to list on ebay IMHO.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
