Washing going on the line in bits... Need to get the other one up this week. Garden has turned into a jungle having been left unsupervised for so long, but I really don't have the energy to do much about it today
the aquilegias appear to be taking over. Will they outcompete ground elder?
AJ - have a think about what you like about other people's gardens, and also how you want to use it. You need to consider the structure first, and then you get to (eventually) do the fun stuff with plants.
Shed sorted and all decorating stuff now put away. Second load in WM.
Need to sort out the hall so I can put the stuff in the sitting room back where it belongs. There are a couple of corners that need a good scrub.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to clean up cheap brass doorhandles? They're the kind that are lacquered to keep them shiny, but the lacquer has worn in places and gone green. If they were plain brass I'd clean them with yogurt, but I guess it won't get through the lacquer. My plain brass ones aren't shiny, but don't go green!0 -

Thank Valli... I don't really want to take all the handles off, so it looks like nail polish remover is the way to go!
Think I need to get some exercise to energise myself, but am feeling unmotivated. All I really want to do is sit on the sofa reading trashy novels0 -
Hi All
Never got back on after this morning, as I had been up since 4:50 am I decided to make the most of it, so at 12.30, all lists were done, I also done ironing as I took it off the rope, (got 4 loads washed n dried today but surprisingly not a lot of ironing, and I don't do DH's, just mine, kids & bedding.
Uniforms, workwear, nursery stuff all done for next week, house is looking cleaner than it has in a long time, even cleared my dressing table & the wardrobehandledrobe so am off for dinner, some vino & to watch final BGT, I will probably see you all tomorrow, enjoy the rest of your evening ladies .
Jo-Jo - That is so sad to hear he is turning her into a mini-me, hopefully she will see the error of her ways in the not too distant future :grouphug:
Pigpen - Hope whatever you have clears up soon.

Hello all,
Hugs to those with worries and frustrations. Well, I have been very busy! Last night I was very brave and went out for dinner with a dozen strangers! I joined WAY recently, and there is a local group of younger widows and widowers who meet occasionally. I actually really enjoyed myself, it wasn't sad, was lovely talking to new people, who understand,
And today, I have completely decluttered my bedroom, gone is the huge overbed fitment blocking part of the window, not a screw remaining.
No flying but mum did clean up kitchen while I was bashing and unscrewing... Also wmx1 as dd nappy leaked so her bed was wet, all line dried and remade ready for tonight's weewees lol she is very soggy lately, I think a sign of her bladder maturing, might be time for the dreaded potty soon...
Have a lovely weekend, been glorious in Leeds today, sunshine for hours!Bossymoo

Evening all
Been gardening nearly all day, very achy now in most joints.
2 beds changed and that is it flying wiseThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Splats are currently stuffed with more meat slops from a tin, one has been pinned down, penicillined and ear dropped, I have stemmed the bleeding from the carefully placed claw in my vein  and I headed for the garden centre as soon as I could.
So I have planted out a dicentra alba (white bleeding hearts) and a borage, nearly buried the [strike]Ninja Kitten[/strike] great gallumphing muppet with whiskers when he threw himself down the hole and proceeded to defend his new home, and put a bunch of tiny alpines, lavenders and suchlike into a tray to catch a drink before planting out the front tomorrow.
Oh, and I gave up trying to report every nasturtium seedling and have started to hoe them - seeing as I have 12 large pots of at least 5 seedlings in each that have survived being transplanted from the veggie beds. The place is going to look like a bomb went off in Mr Fothergill's garden in a month or so.
I did want to get some rampant rambler of the plant kind that would provide shelter for birds and scent and nectar for beasties at the same time as hiding the flaming awful shed and making it harder for the little £($%*($*( that lives over the back who believes he has the right to climb over and trash things when he loses his football  but I couldn't carry it all back on the bus.
Should I go for a rose or honeysuckle? It's a tiny walled garden, but I'm quite keen to get as much in as possible before the Japanese Knotweed I see across the road pops up to say hello.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
