My dress will be white, it suited me best even though I'm incredibly pale. I wasnt keen on some of the ivory dresses, some of the more yellowy ones looked like they had aged.0

(was doing a search for something else and found this thread)
before I got with my fiance, he had said that for weddings the bride should wear white and if she wasn't a virgin then she should wear red!
I'm not wearing either of those colours!0 -
My dress looks ivory to look at but on photo's look bright white
Never really thought about it, not really bothered what anyone else thinks if I'm a virgin or not lol

I'm wearing white, principally because it suits me best. I have very fair, cool-toned skin, so anything warm-toned like ivory, cream, gold makes me look dreadful. Wearing opposite tones to your skin creates a clash/contrast, which sometimes be the desired look, however for the wedding day, it's best to play it safe and keep the colours harmonius!Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.

Same hereWent for Ivory because of more advanced age (40s) but the dress looks perfectly white on the pictures!

I'm wearing a green dress because it's my favourite colour. There's no way I would wear any shade of white- besides not being a virgin, I think it's a pretty horrible, outdated tradition that the bride should be seen as pure for her husband.
And for those that say it's tradition, women only started wearing white when Queen Victoria got married in white. Before that, people simply wore their best dress, which in most cases would have been black.0 -
I'm wearing white (think it is bright white rather than any of the variations!), but I never gave the colour any thought, it was just the dress I liked best. I am extremely pale, so I originally thought I didn't want white but when I tried it on it really seemed to suit me (my skin has cool tones). Definitely not virginal, OH and I have lived together for years!0

My wedding dress shop told me Diamond White is the palest shade of Ivory. My dress is that colour but I didn't really consider whether I would wear Ivory over White when I bought it. The dress just felt like the right one.0
