White dress and virginity...

I think most people wear ivory as its more flattering to a lot of skin tones, imo white only looks good on darker skinsproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I'm wearing ivory as it is the only colour that my dress comes in!0

I chose to wear the colour "Alabaster" (Maggie Sottero - Myra) which is a cross between a pearly, very pale Ivory and a very pale Gold colour. I chose not to wear white as i have very fair skin and it didnt suit me (I am a Strawberry Blonde)
Here is me and my hubby on our special day last year:T Became Mrs Allison on 23rd April 2011

I had never even thought about this until I saw this thread. To be honest I don't think it really matters what colour dress you wear. You should wear what you feel comfortable and happy in. I am wearing ivory but it's chiffon ivory so a pale ivory. I did have a choice of ivory or white for my dress but like many of you I am pale and white just made me look like a ghost!Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0

I don't think it's the paleness of your skin that matters (I wear the palest Mac Foundation so I'm certainly not 'darker skinned'), it's the undertones, whether you have cool or warm skin tones.

I'm wearing a 'bright' white dress, I have pale olive skin and when I tried the dress on for the first time I had a lovely deep tan from travelling. Going to get a spray tan to recreate the look for the big day! Married 06/10/12 - Best day of my life0

For me its more the fact that im not keen on pure white dresses thats why ive gone for ivory0

It never crossed my mind until I saw it in another thread, I was just interested if anyone had consciously gone for a certain colour for a certain reason0

I definitely didn't want white or anything very pale, only because I'm incredibly scruffy and would be bound to get it dirty!
My dress is champagne/pale gold and I love it. It's 'bridey' enough to look traditional, but coloured enough to hide any smudges that might occur!Life on a shoestring!0
