    Even if you want kids, you can't guarantee you'll like them, unlike partners you don't get to choose what they're like. Just pointing out that not everyone likes their kids and not everyone should be expected to, parents should provide for their kids if they have them (intentionally or not) but liking them shouldn't necessarily be expected.

    It should be expected, imo, that if the children are of the age mentioned in the OP (8 and 9 years old) that people, especially the children, shouldn't be able to tell that you don't like them.

    Children don't ask to be born. When we choose to have them you should take a responsibility to them and part of that is to care for them and spend time with them until they are adults. Having them then dumping them because you meet someone you like better shouldn't be an acceptable option imo.

    That may be, but for everything he does i know he does love his kids, his daughters he used to dote on. whether it was cos i was there - we had them everysingle weekend and weeks in hols - and i did the hard bits I dont know, even after I left to start he was a good dad, but as months go on and new gfs come around he gets worse, this is the problem
