Yes, I have been trying to get through for weeks, what a nightmare! I didn't just want to post the forms as I had a couple of questions relevant to the renewal, but was forced to post nevertheless as the helpline was always engaged. This morning I was given another number though, this one:
01355359007
and managed to get through straightaway. This number is for people living outside of the UK and not every adviser is prepared to take the call but most of them do and are very helpful. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for the number. I renewed in the beggining of May and it still hadn't finalised as of last week when I went away, I am so glad to be told it has now been finalised.:jMortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!
MFW 2015 £100 /£1000
Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!0 -
been trying for ages finally got through, gave details and was still told to post in declaration form due to technical error, namely my call was not logged or recorded. i know of two others this happened to. anyone else had this problem?0

Finally got through using the number on here, no problems, adviser was very helpful - shame the main number doesn't operate as efficiently0

Just tried this number, and only got a message saying that the line was for international callers only and giving me the standard 0345 number to call. How did you manage to get through to someone?
It's getting to be pretty frustrating: I keep trying the main number and getting either an engaged tone or a BT message telling me that the network is too busy and they can't connect my call. (Due to the Olympics?) I've posted in the form just in case, but since I only did that today it'll arrive after the due date; hopefully they'll be reasonable and extend the deadline by a day or two in light of all the problems.
(And yes, I realise I should have sent the form in sooner, but I didn't realise it would be this hard to get through on the phone; I've been trying for days!)0 -
Have you missed the thread already going...
Best to keep things tidy and in one thread!0 -
I've been trying on the main number for days, only to get either: (a) BT telling me they're overwhelmed and cannot connect my call; (b) an engaged signal or (c) four minutes(!) of automated messages and menu options followed by "beep, beep, beep..." The alternative number given earlier in the thread just gives me a recorded message saying it's for international callers only and repeating the main number. I hadn't thought to try 141 (as suggested above) and don't plan to, as it amounts to deliberate circumvention of their system and that's a step too far for me.
Enough is enough, and I've now sent in the paper form instead; it'll arrive late, but given all the hassles they're putting us through I would be *very* annoyed if they stuck fast to their deadline and rejected it.0 -
Stumbled across this forum looking for other people having problems renewing their TCs. Just wanted to say an ENORMOUS thank you to the person that posted that other number!!!! I tried it once and got through immediately the 1st time. Guy was a bit off with me as soon as he asked where I was calling from and said he wouldn't do it. I just said thank you politely and bye, have a nice day and I will call back and hung up. 2nd time I got through imediately again and got a woman this time. She was LOVELY and SUPER helpful and renewed my claim very very quickly. FABBBBBBBBB!!! It was costing a fortune ringing the other number only to get cut off every time after 3 to 5 minutes!
So well done that person for posting and helping us, you are a star!!!! It def works (even if you may need to do it more than once!) They are evidently not busy at all on that line because there is no queue.
Oh and ps I didn't add 141. I was on a mobile so maybe that helps?? It took less than 5 minutes0
