New Ebay Feedback System - Now Live!

I agree, i don't like it either..to me it looks like a invasion of privacy. I checked one of my regular buyers latest feedback tonight and found that although a fan of Warhammer items he also purchased the "joy of sex" and several pairs of "high heeled stillettos".......;)553780080

I like the new feedback in as much as you can leave more specific feedback on accuracy of item description, communication, delivery time - but postal charges, how subjective is that!! I'm predominantly a buyer - and I factor in the postage charge and if the total is something I'm happy to pay then so be it. An item arrived today - I paid £3.50 for postage and the stamps came to just £1.33: Now I could be all pedantic and say How much! but I have no idea how far the person I bought from lives from the post office, or how much they paid for the new packaging... I think this should be removed from the feedback 'bits'.
I too don't like having all the things I've bought just listed willy nilly - if someone wants to see what I bought and how much I paid etc etc let them look the hardway. This is just TOO much information; and I'm going to tell them!"A simple life freely chosen is a source of strength. Do not be pursuaded into buying what you do not need or cannot afford." Not unless they are sold as a private listing - no item description or link appears. So the guy with his shoe fetish should be more selective with his sellers!!! But all the scammers are still safe....
Just left my first feedback as a buyer on new system...Rate the seller on the details of the transaction.
How accurate was the item description?
How satisfied were you with the seller's communication?
How quickly did the seller dispatch the item?
How reasonable were the P&P charges?
Note: Sellers will not see the detailed ratings you give them. Rate the seller only on the criteria that apply to the transaction.
Like the feedback system is not flawed enough already without this guff??!!
I received a neutral because an item took 3 days to arrive - where is the control of consistancy in this method?
To be fair, if you copy and paste an old item number into the serach box at the top right corner of any screen, it will still display them well after the 90 days has passed. There is no change to the information provided, it's just a little more visible and easier to access.
I do enjoy looking at some past sales and purchases of my buyers, and it only confirms the need for separate buying and selling accounts.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

And what conclusion have you come to then 'monkey'?:p
Far to much information, I know they're trying to stop fraudsters but this is taking the biscuit, don't want everyone seeing what I've purchased lol.0 -
I've always thought that being able to click on people's transactions to see what else they have bought was an invasion of privacy, but to display it for all and sundry is a TOTAL invasion of privacy.
I have nothing to hide but to display my sales or purchases so openly just feels 'wrong' - I hate it.
Not a happy monkey.

i don't like it either
i'm definitely going to have to start using separate accounts for buying and selling now
also going to stop putting 2nd class postage as an option because i don't want to be rated slow because a buyer has chosen 2nd class to save 50p or so over 1st class cost
i seem to remember reading a few weeks ago that sellers were to be rated on the packaging so i was going to stop using recycled packaging and start using new only so it looked nicer
unfortunately this will mean my p&p charges will have to be increased to cover cost of 1st class and new packaging materials0 -
I'm sure it will affect future ebay transactions and put a lot of traders off.0

Good move! It also allows you to buy wholesale items on one account, then sell on another.pinkgem wrote:also going to stop putting 2nd class postage as an option because i don't want to be rated slow because a buyer has chosen 2nd class to save 50p or so over 1st class cost

I use the option Sellers Standard rate - this means I can choose 2nd class to maximise profit, but if I dont make it to the post office for a day or two then I can send first class.
In reality there is very little difference between the two services - when I post both at the same time, I tend to find the feedback arrives from buyers on the same day.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Also not a happy bunny. I'm a teacher, kids know my ebay ID, when they had to put themselves out to look at the items there was less chance of them bothering. Now it's there in black and white. I don't buy anything to be ashamed of BUT I am a plus size and I sometimes buy Bra's off ebay cos its damned hard to get them on the high street - my bra size will be prominently displayed!!!!The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

Me again:o
I am getting more annoyed about this the more i read about it and look at it, at the moment we are selling quite a bit of "stuff", as DH has been made redundnant, to make ends meet, but i wont be listing anymore now.
For example i am pretty sure that someone i know has a look at my account, but not being the most PC literate person prob couldn't work out how to look at all the information this system now gives them.
Like someone else stated, i feel that this is more of a invasion of privacy than before, i mean i dont post all the things i buy from everywhere else on the internet for all and sundry to see, so why should that be the case with ebay, it also means that i wont risk buying gifts from here just in case people click on my account and up pops ALL my info!!
Sorry i will get off my soap box now!!!!!0
