Bit bored sitting here and just thought I would read some diaries, this reminds me of the start of my journey a couple of years ago, as soon as I started I had loads of problems with the tax man taking extra tax which I didn't owe and it was all so disheartening. We felt like we were going to work for no reason because we Never had anything or did anything except pay our debts, if ever we did go on holiday or do anything nice it would just be added to our debts. Two years on and I'm in a completely different position we are much more aware of where we spend money and we are currently trying to save for an extension and to be honest it only seems like yesterday we started. I'll keep an eye on your diary, but you are doing all the right things just enjoy the last of your mat leave it will go way too quick.

So I went to my friends house after the school run today and she made all the kids tea's which is a fantastic money saving effort :rotfl:

While I was there I told her about the tax credit dilemma I was having and she said I would have to pay back the over payment, which is fair enough, but that it wouldn't come off my tax credits award and that I would have to pay it back separately  Does anyone know if this is correct? I'm just getting used to trying to get my head round paying off my debt and the thought of getting another debt terrifies me :(. I guess I will have to wait and see what they come back with.

I didn't get round to doing all of the things I wanted to do today, mainly cause whilst dd slept, I read dfw diaries :o. Must try harder tomorrow :D

Ooh i love a good money saving tea with friends, if ever our grocery money is running low and the cupboards are bare we go and do the rounds with friends and family, on the flip side we are always inviting people over to our house for a come dine with me tea so i don't feel too bad :o

I know what you mean about idling away hours reading Dfd's if I am every bored I have an hour or two of reading them it really motivates me

I know the feeling! It provides me with such support knowing that other people are on the same journey as me, that I am not alone.

Well I've nothing to report at the moment, debt busting wise. It's that middle of the month lull.

Ive had quite a few NSD's lately and am looking forward to the next pay day to get rid of the Next bill :T which will then leave me with 3 debts outstanding.

Just took my youngest up to nursery for her first visit before I return to work, she seemed to be happy there, it'll just be me who's a wreck on the day  The staff seem to be very friendly, I'm sure everything will be fine

Oh it really is heart wrenching leaving them isn't it but they just adapt really well and enjoy it. I hate the middle of the month lull I end up wishing my life away can't wait until payday ;)

    Good morning all,

I've been busy tweaking my spreadsheet this morning, I sort of wish I could see how other people set theirs out but failing that, mine will just have to do.

I've put in all my outgoings which are scheduled for June, including bank charges  and estimated wage this month and have concluded that I should be able to reduce my od by £100 :j

I've allowed myself the following money:

£120.83 to make final payment to next
£147.00 to pay cc, bringing it down to a nice round figure :o
£70.00 for birthdays - quite a few this month
£40.00 for two takeaways (this would have normally been 4 takeaways and I class this as our treat)
£27.00 hair cut, me and the kids
£130.00 to 'car pot' to go towards road tax
    £36.00 kids hobbies
    £400.00 groceries - this is a challenge
    £47.00 milk/tea/windows

Any change :rotfl: to go into cc pot and every full £10 wil be paid against it (bit of OCD with rounded numbers creeping in :D )

    I feel organised :T

Oh, almost forgot, last weekend I planned meals for this week and it's worked wonders, definitely have to keep this one up. ;)
