Thanks airtrack - did'nt know about the other thread.
Most seem to be going for the phone & BB deals which I'm happy with -
don't use phone much and they seem to be upgrading free anyway.
Mostly interested in the Movies and V+ box.0 -

My bill arrived last week and the advance service charges were £11.50 (+8.50 BB) total £19.50 month!
You are clearly better at negotiating than me - I got 2MB BB, XL TV and XL Phone for £34.95 which they said was the best they could do (retentions). I am now coming to realise that it appears to be affected by who you talk to!
According to some forums, the retentions teams only have set deals that they can offer now. If that is the case, has anyone secured a good deal on the following:
XL TV
XL Phone
L or XL BB
V+
Additional STB (moved upstairs)
(haven't currently got V+ or the STB upstairs - I was told I could get free install but then £10 per month for V+ and £5 per month to keep the STB, taking my "deal" to £50 which sounds expensive?).
Many thanks

I phoned last week (as said earlier) i got:-
XL TV
PHONE RENTAL
PHONE CALLS
SKY SPORTS
SKY MOVIES
V+ BOX
ADDITIONAL STB IN BEDROOM
for £41.45 a month FOR EVER!!!!!!!!
then i got 10mb broadband for £17.50 a month for 3 months then ring back and they will reapply broadband discount and then phone every 3 months.
Now that is what I call a great deal.0 -

How long have you been a customer & how much do you spend on the phone?
I signed up in January & called retentions about 1 month ago. The best I could get was £26.50 for basic phone, 2mb broadband & tv L. This is for 6 months only & I have to phone & get a new deal or pay an extra £5.50/month of I want to keep tv L.0 -
Back in March we managed to get a deal;
Phone m
TV xl
Broadband m
for £25 p, mth with two months free.
However when this month's bill came through we noticed they are charging us £30 after the two free months.
We have made several calls to complain, been called liars on each occasion and been promised a manager would ring us back (which hasn't happened)
Today we were told as a good will gesture we will not be down graded!! On their website our deal is £30 anyway!!
We were told if we aren't happy we should write to head office but they wouldn't give us the address!0 -

I would agree about checking the bills, and I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.
I was on the following:
TV: L
B/B: M (2mb)
Phone: Talk evenings and weekends local.
Charge £34 per month.
After reading Martin's email I thought I'd give getting a better deal a go. This was March 12. Took ages to get through (during the day when I was off as well!).
So I moaned a little (long time customer, better deals for new people, disappointed losing Sky etc etc) and said what I really wanted/needed was reduction in price or I was going elsewhere.
Girl (all she would give me was her first name - Katie) offered me this:
TV: M
B/B: M (2mb)
Phone: Talk Ultd UK.
Charge £19.95 per month.
I was quite pleased, even though I lost a little in terms of the TV (but that wasn't a big deal, I'm not a big TV addict) this is almost a £15 saving.
So March bill had already been generated (8th March) and be paid for my direct debit at end of month, but I was told I was get the reduction backdated on the next one and that the new charges would show.
This month's bill arrives. Lots of additions/reductions/discounts (and for stuff I didn't ask for or have like Ultd international calls!) and the fact it was changed halfway through a month makes for very confusing reading.
Result is that my bill this month is pretty much the same as it was before (£30 odd plus phone charges) - but remember I should have some of last months bill backdated as a credit and that this month should ONLY be £19.95!! You can bet if I had UPGRADED my account the partial charge for previous month and new amount would be on my bill for sure!!
Tried to get through to customer service today - first time 40mins then I had to go and get something to eat. Then It simply refused to take my call no matter what option I chose "please call again later - too busy"
Then I did get through to either a foreign call centre or to someone who definitely has english as a second language - either african or asian. I found it near impossible to understand him because of a strong accent and poor command of english.
Considering how convoluted and confusing the problem is, I got nowhere. I said to him a few times "I'm sorry I can't understand you, your accent is too strong and your english is not very good".
He argued that the package was correct and that it would correct itself next month. I said I didn't think this would be the case. He then told me that my monthly charge is £30.99, and he mentioned Talk Ultd International (which I didn't even know existed!).
I again tried to explain about the offer of £19.95 as detailed above and how I did pay march as normal and it is THIS MONTH that should see the bill showing new charges etc etc.
I then asked if I could speak to anyone else and was told to call "customer services [i thought i WAS on to them!] on 0800-073-0591 to try and fix on Monday 9am-5pm".
Considering i am at work, this is going to be difficult and annoying. i'm beginning to wish i'd never changed now, i hope i don't get similar hassle trying to get this sorted.0 -

I'm fuming!! I just phoned VM on the basis that they are offering new customers 3 for £30pm with tv xl package + I'm not happy with the loss of Sky channels- I'm on £30pm for Telephone/ Starter TV and Broadband size M. Ive been a Telewest customer for phone and BB for a number of years now and am miffed that new customers are getting a better deal for the same price. Up till jan this year i had the freeview box and was quite happy with that, then out of the blue VM telephoned me to ask if I'd be interested in their basic tv package- I was dubious because I didnt want to be paying extra out each month (I'm a pensioner so funds are limited). No one mentioned to me about the 12 months contract for the tv box, nor did I sign any agreement to that effect. Now Ive been told that I cannot cancel the tv because of this 12 month rule. Looks like I'm stuck with the boring tv channels till next year. I'm off to look around for a new ISP. That's their lot from me!!
 Come back Telewest- all is forgiven.
