Shez - No harm in starting early on the 80's :rotfl:
You're an '80s child or have an 80's child if you understand this:
* You played with "My Little Ponies."
* You know all the words to "Ice Ice Baby."
* You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members.
* You wanted to be on Jim'll Fix It
* You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before he had plastic surgery.
* You wore a banana clip or one of those slap-on wrist bands at some point.
* You wore multiple pairs of socks in the middle of the summer just so you could be "hip."
* You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off."
* You were upset when She-ra, Princess of Power, and He-Man got cancelled, but most especially the mighty THUNDERCATS!!!!
* You can remember watching Full House and Saved by the Bell for endless hours, back when they were new episodes.
* You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle Rock.
* You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future."
* You know someone who appeared on Wac-a-day.
* You wanted to be a Goonie. ("Goonies never say die.")
* You remember Madonna in her cone stage.
* You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince."
* You say 'PJ and Duncan' not 'Ant and Dec'.
* You could breakdance, or wished you could.
* You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game system.
* You remember M.C. Hammer.
* You can still sing the rap to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air.... (well this is a story all about how, my life got flipped turned upside down...... LOL!)
* You remember when it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and NOT Will Smith!
* You own many cassettes.
* You owned a pair of L.A. Gear, Keds, or Converse tennis shoes.
* You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins or an ET lunchbox.
* You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf.
* My Little Pony, Gummy Bears and Transformers are familiar to you.
* You ever had a Swatch Watch.
* You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the "Care Bear stare."
* You had Wonder Woman or Superman undies.
* You believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power!"
* You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye.
* You spent hours in the basement building and re-building Lego cities.
* Big wheels and BMX's were the way to go.
* With your pink (or blue) portable tape player, you sang back up to Kylie and Jason!
* "Party like it's 1999" seemed SO far away!!
* You wore acid washed jeans
* Watching Neighbours was considered essential
* If you ever owned Polly Pocket or Mirco Machines.
* If you ever made Ken fall in love with Barbie.
If you can identify with at least half of these, you are a child of the 80's!!
Is it wrong I identified with nearly all of themYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -

Being 22 this year i identify with loads of them.. ! Latter part of the 80's child me
Totally wasted my day offEXOH popped round about 11/12 this morning to pick up some tools hed left here... couple of coffees later and a gab and it was 4pm
Had plans to do all sorts... but all went out the window. Know i should have not offered him coffee etc... and got on with them but were still good mates and im ashamed (and angry with myself) to say it but i miss him and his conversations
Weird not having someone to natter too or just sit and watch tv with.
Must try harder to try and hate him.... must try harder to hate him... must try harder to hate him... :rotfl:
Have managed to make some cheese and onion pasties for my lunches since he left though, trying HM ones as apposed to paying 47p each for soggy value ones that are full of additives and taste yucky! Also got a walnut and sultana cake in the oven... hope it turns out ok as last time it went wrong... and its my favourite!
Plan tonight is to watch the Liverpool match with a beer or two (alone for the first time) and then to do some ironing before "Kill it cook it eat it" is on... was gruesome last night and turned my stomach but im glad i watched as it really helps me appreciate meat and understand better what my foods gone through to get onto my plate!!!

What a time you've all been having :j Obviously, I'm far too young to remember any of the 70's, or the 80's come to that
Shez, my sister used to talk about *Tales of the Totally Predictable* though. Must let her know if it's being repeated.
TKP, sorry about the job - anything else in the pipeline?
Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Does anyone else think walnut whips are not the same?
I used to love the Flintstones and then the Jetsons.
Does anyone else remember "Space 1999" and "Buck Rodgers in the 23rd century?""This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

What a great thread to read it has been brought loads of memorys back, my dh rembered more than i did, but we love Monkey and like to show the kids as much old programmes as possible, they love watching Space 1999,A-team ect.
My favourite from my memory was Simon and The witch and Jonney Briggs.:D
Well car sailed through its MOT thankfully and ds is feeling alot better.
We have been told today offically that my dd infant school and the boys junior school will be forming a federation of schools which means we will have one head which will be my dds current headteacher which i am thrilled about she is a wonderfull head and i know she will make the junior site alot better school.
The current head at the boys school is the reason i resigned from governors and she is now leaving at easter:T :T .Im happy as im sure it will mean a improved school enviroment for my kids.
Catch you all soon

Well, what can I say having had a quick skim through today - you are all nuts but I love it!!!
First off
Crazychick - hope all went well re Nanna today. Clairefun - you are so supportive of nephew - wonderful. PennyP - glad things so positive with cleaner. Looked up your conditions on internet tonight - wow, you are so brave. Kyle - cards are lovely. You sound a bit more positive! loubee- your clean house pictures put me to shame! ageanjo sister in law from H*** - OH must meet her outwith house.
I didn't have home access to tv until I was almost 12! I remember Heidi with the grumpy old grandad but he had a heart of gold! Watched the original Bill and Ben with my brother (little Weeeeeeeeeeed!). Also what was that stupid horse puppet thing we watched? Anyone remember Lambchops (awful!). Went to the pictures on a Saturday morning and watched Zorro (mid 1950s!). What was the big guy called in Bonanza - my take on the theme tune is Doo, doo doo, doo doo da da da, doo doo u do! What about little house on the Prairie?
TKP sorry about job. Amie - had a problem with huge turn over with Maths teachers when DD was about 12-13. Consequently, she never achieve as I am sure she could have. She had supply teachers, changing every few weeks for a whole academic year when in S2 (Scotland) was a crucial learning time. Glad school has responded.
Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone tonight but you do know I am keeping an eye on you.
Now really flying getting everything back in order before DH home Friday. He doesn't worry and he knows I have been poorly but it makes me feel better.
Love to you all and I hope to pop in again before I go to bed.
Love
