If you were born after 1971 you don't know what real money is, or real mental arithmetic:rotfl: . 12pennies in a shilling, 240 to a pound:eek: . We used to get asked things like
If you have 11shillings 10pence and bought something costing 4shillings and sixpence how much change did you have:eek: :eek:0 -
I've got a couple to add to the "child of the 80s" list...
* you owned a Global Hypercolour T-shirt and wore it with a bumbag and bermuda shorts
* you remember shellsuits when all kids wore them, not just chavs!
(BTW I just went all the way through the theme song from "Fresh Price" :rotfl: )Operation Get in Shape

Ahhhh, the 1980's.
Well, while we're on the subject, check out 'The Skeletor Show' on youtube. Inspired. Just search for Skeletor, and see what he did, when he wasn't out to rule the world."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

Amie that's awful! If the class doesn't have work set, then the supply teacher needs to think of something relevant to teach!

"Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down..."
We have loads of the Fresh Prince episodes on DVD... and gosh it is shocking how they didn't realise how one British swear word *was* a swear word... made me laugh but I really hope they bleeped it out over here!!
I'm def an 80s kiddie, my Mum bought a 'Watch with Mother' vid when we were little so I know all about Andy Pandy, The Woodentops (what've we got for dinner today? sawdust and hay for dinner today!) etc
I loved Belle and Sebastian, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Grotbags, Sooty, Wacaday (I danced for Timmy Mallett!) and so many more things! I was scared of The Moomins though!! Also loved Get Along Gang, Pob, Pigeon Street, Gummi Bears.... I could go on all night, and longer!!
Those were the days.... Wednesdays when nothing was open in the afternoon... we had to rush to the shop on the way home from library club before it closed!
The best theme tune definately goes to The Racoons though. I have it as a ringtone on my phone, it rocks!Mysterious Cities of Gold is a close second if anyone wanted to know.
