    Can I join in?
I think its great how a lot of the 80's stuff is back in fashion. My DD1 doesnt believe me when we are in Claires looking at all the beads and earrings, leg warmers and fingerless gloves and I tell her I used to own a pair.
And I am very ashamed to admit that I remember the bright yellow and orange craze and I had a pair of tights in each colour. Whats more I wore them, I must have looked like a duck.:o
OK maybe its not so great. :rotfl:

just wanted to pop on and say YAY! :j :j Were (Liverpool) through to the quarter finals! :j Feels weird watching the match alone and shouting and jumping about...so had to pop on here to share my excitement! :o :rotfl:

Mum rang me at 9pm... to say she gathered i wasnt coming up then... i TOTALLY forgot i was meant to be going to see my mum and that tonight :o And just as i apologised and told her i was sure i was loosing the plot as i actually FORGOT to cook myself tea last night.... i realised... id done it again tonight!!:o  AND just realised now i forgot to put my uniform on the maiden (although i took it out the washing machine) and im in work at 9am in the morning and my work tshirts are both wet!! And ive forgot to find out whats happening at scouts tomorrow night.... so could turn up to find out i should have an activity arranged and should have brought all the equipment :o and ive forgotten to do the most basic thing of having a shower for work tomorrow! :o I keep forgetting to do the most basic things.. im sure im losing the plot!

Feel really iffy too.. and keep having nose bleeds! Dunno if im getting sick or something (as a kid i always got nosebleeds when i was getting or getting rid of a cold) or am just generally run down. All i know is i dont wanna go to work tomorrow and definetely dont wanna face the supervisor !!!!! from hell... mop up more toilet water (toilets are broke in work and keep backing up onto the shop floor)... get the responsibility of the security radio and have to keep dealing with smackheads and mouthy kids instead of doing my own job.. for NO extra money... and most of all i know they will all be talking about the big party the floor manager is having that they are all going to.. that im not supposed to know about because im the only one who hasnt been invited :( NOT that id wanna go anyway as none of them are my type of people.. but an invite would be nice.. so they didnt make it so obvious that i dont fit in!! Ah well.. Best go make some toast even though im not hungry... just to put something in my belly.

    Jo

I was different, I wore odd flourescent socks :o

Me and my sister bouncing round the house to Gummy Bears on a Sunday morning, annoyed parents :) Yes definately remember David the Gnome. Racoons was cool. They sometimes play these on POP! Yep also know the theme tune to 'Fresh Prince' my partner used to do the dance which was named the 'Carlton' with the other lads who worked on the door where we used to work.

My son was the centre of all attention when he took his Dad's original Transformers and MASK toys into school one toy day. I always wanted an A La Carte kitchen but never got one, remember the advert where they made swiss roll and beans :rotfl:

Had rara skirt, did have shell suit but Mam took it off me when all the fire warnings came out. Those pump up shoes, they were funny, I mean, why? Global hypercolour, also had, not good when hot, showed up! Brosette mean't bottle tops on shoes, ripped jeans ( Mother also went loopy when I slashed and frayed my brand new jeans)
One day I might be more organised...........

We were cheering with you Jo - dd supports liverpool first and brentford second while I just support brentford. - I like it when liverpool do well though for her sake and I love the way the fans keep singing no matter what.

Was anyone else here a goth or a new romantic way back then - i used to use baby powder for face powder - I bet I looked like the Undead. Thick black eyeliner and backcombed hair completed the look :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Do you remember the two tone look - with my first saturday job wages i bought a top with one sleeve that was white on one side and black on the other diagonally - i blush with shame to think how fab i thought i looked with no chest to hold it up. RaRa skirts, white stilettos - ohmigosh my girls would be so shocked at how girly i was then. It's terrible cos i have a bit of a phobia about wearing stuff i remember first time around which means i haven't worn anything fashoinable for about 15 years :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Evening All

Cant believe Ive been missing out on a good thread tonight, ruddy typical cos Ive been keeping busy!

Dont get me started on the 80's. Born in 1973, I loved the 70's music, but sooooooooo remember the 80's like it was yesterday.

I too wore odd flourescent socks, ra ra skirts - I had loads - cos my nanna used to make them for me!

I used to spend my £1 a week spending money on The Smash Hits magazine, and still had enough left over to buy Duran Duran badges and flying saucers (sherbet) sweets!

Those were the days when a 10 mix bag, was worth the money!

I owned a pair of disco roller boots, and used to go everywhere on them with my tape player blasting out Madonna! How cool did I think I was! (cringe with embarassment)

Gosh - I could g on all night

Anyway, went to the crem, put some fresh flowers down and wrote a lovely peom. No - one else had been! It annoys me that all the fuss other relatives made when they was alive - you've not visited - you've not done this/that/the other! And no-one can go and pay their respects!

Ive found a lovely pet memory plaque for my cat! Just got to save up for it, and get in engraved with his details!

Slowly catching up with the washing. And been busy doing my craft whilst watching the Liverpool game! Hurrayy - they got through!

    Off to bed soon
    Goodnight all
    Love as usual
