  • Very interested to read the comment on bagless vacuums being a waste of time. Our aged and trusty Panasonic started playing up last year and my wife replaced it with a Hoover bagless. What a waste of space. Suction deteriorates rapidly and I've yet to use it myself without having to take it apart, wash the filters, rod out the tube, swear at it, etc.. Yesterday I just gave up and bought a bag cleaner like our previous ones. It's got a much bigger motor, worryingly strong suction, is uncomplicated and it works. No dust flying all over the place when you change the bag, double the holding capacity of a bagless, etc., etc..

I'm not the sort of person who gives up easily on domestic equipment (we have a 22 year old Hotpoint dishwasher) but the bagless cleaner concept is, in my opinion, disastrous. Trouble is, most of the models in the stores are now bagless and look like things out of star wars. Stick to a bagged cleaner. Cheap, easy, keeps its performance and it just works.

hi guys im on the lookout for a new vacuum cleaner(must be upright) having previously spent over 280 on a dyson which i must say was useless after a couple of months, my budget is 100 pounds we have very short pile carpets and a dog if that makes much difference.

hi if you have short pile carpets, i replaced my hoover before xmas with a getech hoover as i have wood flooring and short pile rugs, google the web site as they have special offers at the moment. i love it, its lightweight=i have a bad back so its great. easy to empty and as an upright takes little space to store. hope that helps
  • It's a great .
I also have a vacuum cleaner. It's good for me .
  • Hi,

Hi I don't agree about what you said about the Dyson vacuum cleaner, in my opinion they are the best on the market. At least from the ones I tried. They are well built from quality materials - at least my DC25 is. Exactly which part was damaged in yours?
As for the topic, if your budget is 100 bucks I think the best choice for a vacuum cleaner in your case is the Hoover WindTunnel upright vacuum cleaner (features/review: review-home.com/vacuum-cleaners/hoover-windtunnel-vacuum-cleaner-review ) could be a good choice since it costs a 100 bucks and which is currently the best seller and most popular vacuum cleaner on Amazon.com (you can see if you search for vacuum cleaners and click the best selling menu) - it must be good if its so popular.

My honest advice is to buy a Miele.

Will cost more than your budget but they are very well made, very powerful, suction power does not go down with time. The bag less ones are just to messy at bag change time. We have found the Miele bags last a long time and are very easy to change with no mess.
