help please :need a new Vacuum Cleaner

hi guys im on the lookout for a new vacuum cleaner(must be upright) having previously spent over 280 on a dyson which i must say was useless after a couple of months, my budget is 100 pounds we have very short pile carpets and a dog if that makes much difference.

This Bissell is excellent, several of us on MSE have bought it. The suction is much better than a Dyson:

The Bissell Lift Off (reconditioned with 1 year warranty) £50

Stay away from Electrolux. Their customer services are terrible.

I swapped my heavy old dyson for a Vax turbo last year & am more than pleased with it. It performs far better than the dyson ever did & copes great with cat hair.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I bought this after seeing it on the other thread and it's great:p You can't go wrong for less than £50:D

Have to agree with you roses, I bought an Electrolux upright (called 'Boss' I think!!). We got it home, hubby squashed a few biscuits on our laminated flooring to test it out:rolleyes: (as you do!!) and the hoover, just blew the crumbs everywhere:rotfl:

We have 2 dogs, one of which leaves all, and I MEAN ALL his black hairs all round the gaff, we've got a Hoover dust manager 2000W ( red front) i can't remember how much we paid for it, but it sucks every thing up- including all the fresh muddy paw prints!!!! the only downside to the hoover - it fills up rather quick and the filters need a brush every empty and need replacing every 6 - 8 months ( £ 5) - on the plus- leaves the carpet with a nearly new look!

I hated my Dyson, it was heavy and didn't do the job. I've now got a "Henry" and he's fantastic! Wouldn't swap him for anything! I paid £89 for him. All he shops use Henry to clean the stores, even ones who sell cleaners!
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!
