Part of the change from Value to Everyday Value is that they have removed GM products and other stuff from the products. Therefore this should make the products better quality whilst keeping the price cheaper than the normal Tesco product

I can't believe people actually bought Frankenstein food ..that's scary that Tesco even put it in value stuff in the first place.

OH bought me everyday value peanuts today in Tesco Express and I keep looking at them dubiously..

That's the problem I have with this "rebranding", value stuff used to be cheap, now its cheaper.
I know what I'm getting isn't isn't good quality and some things I would pay the extra for. I think they've caught on.
I guess now it's only a bit cheaper, Tesco are hoping people will trade up more often. I hope it backfires and more people trade down then they've accounted for and wipe out the price increases.
They've priced me out many products, last week I wouldn't bother going to lidl, just to save £1, now it's more like £5 I will.

I can't abide Tesco anymore, they want to take over the world. For me it's either Sainsbury's, Waitrose or M&S.

Morrison's have some good offers but their shopping experience leaves a lot to be desired, unlike Sainsbury's who have just opened a MASSIVE new store near me and it's a lovely place to shop. They know how to design a supermarket.

bbfc I think Tesco has been smugly sitting on their market share too long, thinking customers are too stupid to realise how many tricks they get up to. Well it seems from MSE at least, that Tesco is going to realise their mistake big time :j

If Morrisons bucked up a bit it could be a credible alternative for many people.

I think essentials Waitrose stuff I've tried is very good. Bought some great houmous for example with zero additives, which works out cheaper than I can make it.

Sainsbury's is the sleeping giant here..

ASDA is IMO getting as bad as Tesco and I used to lurve ASDA.

I usually buy the double strength diluting juice, natural yoghurt and occassionally the motzerella and pizza bases. I really like their new packaging but often think their 'value' ranges are a bit of a false economy. I tend to pay a bit more for quality, often needing less.

Their 'Big Price Drop' campaign was an utter failure for them and will haunt the for years to come (they even admitted to it) and i'm glad. They increased footfall but put less money in the tills due to their ridiculously cheap prices. I've also stopped shopping at ASDA too and it used to be where me and my housemates would shop all the time. Not much against them but the local Sainsbury's is much better and is a better shopping experience.

Morrison's are relying too much on their 'Market Street' approach but their stores aren't nice places to shop in and their non-food section is practically non-existant. They are really behind everyone else.

Agree with you on Sainsbury's, they are expanding very quickly.

I can't believe people are Bigging up morrisons! My shop is almost 3x the price when I go there. The shopper is paying for the stupid pretend bakeries and fishmongers, paying for the delusion of a Market place. I only go if there is no other choice!

I tend to compile my shopping list through mysupermarket, and tesco has been the cheapest 'basket' every time.

I don't trust Asda since they were on watchdog for raising a price for 24 hours, only to 'drop it' back to regular price and making you think it's cheaper than normal. Scam artists

Then why do you go there?

Would you care to give some examples of your shopping baskets that were nearly three time more in Morrisons?

Tesco have pretend bakers and fishmongers too. And they have a very expensive points system to run. They may give you a penny point every time you spend a quid, but they have to add a lot more than a penny to each quid of shopping you buy. To pay for the cards, computer system, admin staff, printing and postage for the points vouchers, not to mention the cost of the vouchers. Oh, and all the call center staff who deal with complaints by giving out more "free" points every time someone complains.

Under what circumstances would there be no other choice than to pay three times more for your shopping?

You compare your shopping basket with morrisons on mysupermarket?

I find Morrison's quite cheap and they usually have the best offers. I just don't like shopping there as its not a nice place to shop.
