The Value ketchup has actually increased in size by 30g. Not all bad then!

    Don't let them know, it's probably a mistake!!! :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I also noticed the packs of Value peppers seem to have gotten smaller. You use to get 4 or 5 depending on the size, at the minute they have 3 in, but in that same big packaging! Could just be that batch though, I'll check next time I'm in. I don't usually buy veg from Tesco, but it's my closest supermarket at 10-15 minute walk. A much smaller Sainsburys is a mile away, which I prefer for all the fresh things

New pack: 4x 200 sheet rolls £1.41. Price per roll: 0.35 (but 50% less product).

Just back from Tesco, and those are 70p not £1.41.

But if a shop only stocks the 4 packs then the customer is getting 50% less product for their money and per 100 sheets the price has doubled.

    You have the price wrong.

My calculator is fine thanks ;)

Are you sure? Would you like to check again ;)

So the new pack does work out cheaper.

Errr, I was going by the price given in the OP, so unless you assume I am some kind of mind reader then there is no need to be rude now is there? I think I was 10p out- OP said £1.31 and Tesco online said £1.41

<snipped>Example: Tesco Value Toilet Tissue, 4 rolls, 400 sheets per roll £1.31 (each piece was the same length as Andrex, just 3mm narrower, quality was pretty good)... Re-branded Everyday Value Toilet Tissue, 4 rolls, BUT now only 200 sheets per roll!! Half the quantity and still the same price - £1.31!! Oh and if you compare the two packets, the difference in size is abundantly clear... What did I do? I bought the whole stock of the old ones of course - all 21 packs!! <snipped>

I also checked the price online yesterday and it was still £1.41.

In case you didn't realise, Tesco's are in the middle of changing a vast range of prices and products on the website, with some still showing the old name& price. OP's store are obviously in the same boat.

So now the price has gone down to £0.70, I think we can declare it resolved.

You should buy their value spectacles too .

As someone who has just had to type a letter of complaint about a pair of tesco's glasses which have been made with completely the wrong prescription, I'd strongly suggest not! This is after 2 visits as well.

It's strange and psychological - but the new packaging makes me more inclined to purchase "Tesco Value" items - especially when it comes to things like chicken. The old packaging just made it look cheap and something that I wouldn't go anywhere near.

I also bought an Everyday Value single cheesecake yesterday, 31p. Not bad at all.

I also checked the price online yesterday morning before I went to Tesco, and it said 70p.

However, you are still missing the point. My original comment was about you stating that

    £1.41/4 =0.33
    £1.96/6=0.35

Not wishing to be, or appear to be rude, I blamed it on your calculator batteries rather than you not being able to do sums, or not being able to type properly.

Yes, I mis-typed in my first post. However post #17 has the correct figures on- I got them the wrong way round first time.

All I can say is your online Tesco must have updated faster than mine- I checked at around 11am. I always sign in before browsing so it is then linked to the specific store which packs the orders. For reference I am still waiting for the new versions of 5kg potatoes and tinned corned beef to appear with new pictures and prices. Would be interested to see if you have those yet?

Just tried the mushy peas which are 6p for a 300g can. Really nice, no odd flavours. The only criticism I have is that they need salt, but perhaps that's just me. Well worth 6p.
