I am just nipping on to share that...
I got my Christmas food shopping delivered - in total using special offers and discounts I saved £24.34 my total shop came to £38.38 the only disappointment was they didn't have any candy canes or festive friends. Hubby has promised he will get them for me on Friday (payday) so that its all finished except for fresh veg the weekend before.
Bless him, I got him a bottle of Grolsh 660ml bottle for our Christmas eve hamper but ive got some really bad tummy pains today (braxton hicks i think) and he had to unload the food shopping so he spotted it and he was so HAPPY!! He will forget all about it by then so will be happy again on Christmas eve lol.
I feel really pleased because all the food ive got is aunt bessie/tesco not VALUE except for stuffing and cranberry sauce and that never ever happens in our house, everything is always value so we got some real treats and it didn't really cost much, it will be enough to last the week and we will have only spent about £20 more for the week than usual and that includes a bucks fizz, value lager, grolsh, diet coke, orangeade so I feel really happy
Im sure its totally uninteresting but im proud after thinking it wouldn't turn out well and its turning out greatEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

IT IS INTERESTING. You should be proud of yourself.
Now STOP putting yourself and your triumphs down.
Yes they are triumphs.:D0 -
Hello all,
Been lurking for a while now, and thought I'd see if any of you have some inspiration for me. My bf is off in Afghan this christmas which obviously limits xmas presents! I've got him a shoebox full of things that will hopefully make him smile, but i want to get him something a bit more *nice* if you know what I mean?
It needs to be able to fit into a shoebox, last for longer than a month (although I've mainly got him sweets etc anyway, because they have limited storage and can't bring much back!) and not be too massive. I was toying with the idea of sending him out some photos or something on a memory stick, but that doesn't seem like I've put much effort into it!
He's into computer games etc so maybe I could find something to do with that?
Thanks in advance!0 -
jeningers (((((((HUGS))))))) I am really, really sorry to hear your sad news.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0

You could still do the memory stick, only use something like Muzy first.

There are lots of great photo ideas on there. I love photo pile.:D0 -
Jeningers such sad news. We are always here. I daily get support from the lovelies on here please pop in and chat whenever you feel like it. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself time:) x
Chirpy you really are a terror for putting yourself down! That's a fabulous achievement especially in your condition. And with 38 sleeps to go. You are an inspiration to us all:) Now get your feet up and enjoy the peace while it lasts you are gonna be rushed off your feet for the next 18 years -at leastbut I know you'd not have it any other way.
Well done Junior_J you are doing so so well:)
Spuddist I've never been in your position but think the photos on a memory stick sound great. What about adding Christmas video messages from you and his friends/family etc onto the memory stick tooIt must be so very difficult for you especially at this time of year. Always After A Bargin one of our regulars will be able to offer better advise than me she's our "soldiers wife"

Mrsgreenwood can I ask what you used to transform your polystyrene ball into a bauble - cant think of the word I'm looking for the top bit that you've threaded your ribbon through? Bought some polystyrene balls today to have a go with DGD but don't know what the top bit is called to search for. Thank you in anticipation xThe secret of Christmas

Jenjingers, so sorry. : (
The same happened to me 8 years ago and once they sent me home from the 2nd scan which confirmed it, that was it, nobody even enquired as to my health.
It's hard. (((hugs)))0
