I have had a lovely day
I washed up this morning then thought s0d the rest of the house work, it's my day off. Phoned best friend and went to Ipswich shopping.
I took some money out of my Christmas savings and enjoyed spending it.
I do love my dd, but it was so nice going without her.
We were in Primmy for 25 minutes, not 2 hours 25 minutes. I knew what I wanted (2 Fair-isle wool cardigans), I went in got them and left.:D
I spent longer in the TK Maxx home section. I got a lovely white tree for my forest(see pic) and the most beautiful sleigh (pic). I have a collection of glittery reindeer from BHS, that I am going to have pulling it.
I also got some pudding bin bags and some santa bin bags ((pic) can't remember the santa ones being mention before)) Don't know if it has been said before, but they would be great for wrapping those big awkward presents.
Am now sitting with a glass of Baileys in pjs and slippers.:D
Sorry for quality of pics. These low energy light bulbs are less than useless.
Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble with the new photobucket ? I keep getting blank grey screens where my pics should be.0 -

I prefer plain things, but don't know if they are too plain ?

I am ready for the elves visit December. I have been hunting high and low for some outfits for the elf on the shelf, Especially the little skirt that the girl elf wears but cant find anything, so off I went to the market today and spent 7 pound on material, bells etc and hubby is now on the sofa as I am typing making outfits for the elf. He is not happy but he is so talented when it comes to crafts. The Elf will have his own bath ( picked up in Wilko) will arrive on a steam train ( 2.99 from the works) Have own suitcase with clothes ( Thanks to my hubby), post box ( poundland) along with letters, kids Christmas advent calenders. Also have a Christmas wii game ( 3.99 Cex) I have booked my steam train tickets, Panto and now know the dates for the coke lorry so its all planned in the diary and what had to be paid for as been done. I also have the stuff here ready to make my wreath for my table and have new tablecloth and runner to go with my new colour scheme.
We may go away too for a weekend just before Christmas. If I get a good price for the main presents then I may book two days away. Not sure yet, will see how next two weeks pan out. Sorry I have babbled on. But been a while since I have popped onto the thread so wanted to say hello.
and i thought i was organised! the elf on a shelf sounds lovelypinknfluffy28 wrote: »sorry, multi-post time, but I have been asked to put together a hamper for a friends 6 year old daughter. mum said "just bits & bobs really, something different" !!! She's a real girly girl, but into nothing in particular, and im at a real loss, but dont want to let them down! I asked mum again today for some advise as to what she likes, but she just said "anything & everything", not much help really! I like to do themed hampers, so was toying with the idea of a "sparkle & shine" hamper, inc nativity dvd (theme title taken from a song on it), some glittery craft sets, glittery make up, bath products, hair products etc. Maybe a sparkly tutu??? Does that sound silly? If anyone has any other suggestions please please let me know, I have 5 weeks, a budget of £40 (which I have told her mum is far too much but she is insistant!) and no real idea where to start!!! HELP!!!
why not do her an assorted hamper of sorts with a couple of different categories, gardening, glittery and sparkly ectcan anyone reccomend anywhere good for christmas decorations? Our theme is purple & silver this year. We have a tree and a few lights for it but our house never feels as christmasy as others so really want to make the effort this year, any and all thoughts welcome!!
wilkos had some lovely ones in today, had to stop myself though as already have far too many baubles!Mrs_Cullen wrote: »Hi off to lidl tomorrow to get cellophane and see what else they have. Got a great weekend planned going to see breaking dawn part 2 with my 2 daughters in Lincoln, youngest goes to uni in Lincoln but will have to drive to Leicester 1st to get the older one. They get their pre xmas boxes excited. This year we are also going to the christmas market in Lincoln being as it is her last year. Eldest one is going away for christmas, so it will just be the 20 year old me oh who will be on call xmas day and two grandads who are 86 not sure what to do after dinner to keep everyone entertained, any ideas?
yes it is lidl! heres me going into aldi asking about cellophane - the woman points to the foil ect and says its over there, "no the cellophane for wrapping presents" she looked at me like i had gone mad :rotfl:. so now to find a lidl near mepinknfluffy28 wrote: »thankyou all for the gardening hamper ideas, going on a mini spree (hopefully) tomorrow so can check out lidl, hb & £land. Having a feel-sorry-for-myself evening, sat in my pjs, under my snowflake throw, this cold is really starting to out stay its welcome now, i just feel so tired & i ache all over! Chocolate slabs turned out really well, very pleased, so they are all now wrapped in foil, in a tin & out of reach!
my youngest dd came home today singing christmas songs, theyve finally started practicing at school...just hope when they hand out the parts she gets to be the angel she's convinced she will be!!
i know everyone who has had this cold seems to have it for weeks got mine on sunday hoping it goes this week and can handle the sneezing and runny nose hate having a sore throat0 -
well i feel rotten (stupid cold), on a good note went into town after work got mum and dads kettle also to go with it, tea. coffee, sugar, hot choc, and some digestives, as they know they are getting the kettle thought i would surprise them with a little bit more. have made a sleigh box thanks to omo's great idea have painted it just got to do the other side, although ds now thinks its for santa (how to get myself out of that one as if i tell him its for his uncles presnts to go in he will undoubtedly tell him (the joys of a 5 year old) so decided to make one for his presents too and put a note on saying "thank you for my sleigh's they helped me carry all the presents, now you can have it to put your presents in" or something along those lines!
anyway also poundshop i got 2 body spray for brother which were on 24£1 didnt realise till she gave me a pound back in change! got my dad a notebook but i saw some horse wallpaper so want to cover it.
will take pics of sleigh tomorrow and post them on. hope everyone is doing well x0 -

My daughter is 5 just after Christmas, one of her pressies is a 'girls night in'. She loves having a 'girls night' whilst her brothers are at football training. She's getting a dressing gown, fluffy socks, DVD, lush bath bomb, bubble bath, character flannel/toothbrush, one of those scrunchie bath sponge things (with matching shower cap - Primark), lip balm, owl hand cream, sparkly nail varnish and a monkey nail drier

Otherwise how about a craft hamper, my mum is getting her lots of craft kits for Christmas, can spend as little or as much as you like on those.Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -
Is there anywhere to buy an elf in a shop - I've only seen american ones selling them and our one looks suspiciously like Doc from the seven dwarfs from the disney store .....0
