Am watching the fabled Christmas in July on QVC!
Am slightly overly excited. Even though it's just candles.

great idea about the record bowls! and will have a look at Amazon for Arthur Christmas pre order

I just went onto Hawkins Bazaar as had email, 75% off sale, that looks like the minimum! Ive just got Giant Tennis, reduced from £20 to £2, they have the talking mugs (Clangers, Bagpuss etc) reduced from £10 to £2, also the Flying Hamster is £2.50 - saw one in store (before they closed them) last Christmas, they look good fun, loads of other bits and pieces, well worth look for hampers/stockings!

I've bought a load of presents (did it in the Jan sales) but slightly concerned about Fiance's gift as he has..eeerrr...shall we say 'grown a touch' since I bought his jumper! Pretty certain it won't fit when he gets it and bougth far too in advance to allow me to return it after Xmas.

    He's going on a diet..!

Argos seems to have put up a lot of Christmas stuff on the website. I'm sure there wasn't anything there when I looked a couple of days back.

Wow...Thanks to everyone for the heads up on all the bargains!

I've been seriously busy at work so have had very little time to shop but finally got a much needed day off last week.... so went shopping plus sorted out what I already had.

Dad - Best of British/ All American hamper - complete!! I still can't believe it as I thought the American stuff would be really hard to come by

Sister - candle hamper :complete (though it's sooooo hard not to keep adding to it!!)

Done quite well on the Hot, Hot, Hot hamper for BiL finding chilli ketchup 79p, chilli nuts 89p, an apron (Wilko's 99p) and a grow your own chillis kit for just 10p (reduced in Asda). Just need a box of rennies/ tums and some chilli chocolate (which nowhere seems to have at the moment)

Son-in-Law - Golf hamper: Managed to get drinks coaster 99p from Card Warehouse and then (bless Aldi) bought a dvd (a comedy about golf:eek:) £2.99, golf socks £2.49 and a book about world golf courses £1.99 All I need now is an autoputter and a bottle of beer (for the 19th hole!) then another hamper is finished

Daughter -Party Girl Hamper: begining to wish I'd never started with this theme as it seems to be taking ages to find anything! Did grab a pair of those 'fold up' shoes for £2.99 in Home and Bargain last month though.

Son - Movie Hamper: almost done now, just need a couple of xmas dvd's - I've been reading all of your favourites so got plenty of ideas LOL

Daughter-in-Law: Snuggle hamper: found lovely fluffy text print banket down to £4.99 in B&M. Bought a foot spa a coupe of weeks ago so just need PJ's, bottle of wine and a box of chocs

Friends children - started on a baking hamper for both. ASDA had 2 for 1 on sprinkles/ toppings so added them in with the normal food shopping. Already bought jellies/ angel delight .Need bowls, whisk and a couple of cake mixes.

Phew....still got to order some cellophane...I keep forgetting to do this!!
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!

    Hi All

First of all, some belated catchups..

ALJA - Congrats on the new job. PIXIE - Good luck with the mediation, I hope its positive and useful. MUMTOONE - Sorry to hear about ur Mums accident. Your Mum has my complete sympathy as the same thing happened to me when I was abou 8 or 9. I tripped over my bedside rug and smacked my mouth on the bedside cabinet. Blood everywhere, and I ended up with a lip like Elvis and a brace and you can still see a small scar on the inside of my top lip. Not good!

On topic, this is the first year in about 17 years I am dodging xmas in July on QVC. This is because I bought more gifts on Saturday and another 4 xmas gifts today.

Today was pay day and I had promised DS a cd he wanted. So, before work I nipped to Tesco and they didn't have the cd but did have the mens Nivea set mentioned on the grabbit thread (3 Nivea sensitive items plus England top) for a fiver. Then went to WH Smith to see if they sell cds (they didn't) and found a 3 book boxset for dd for £4. Then..nipped into Home Bargains to grab a drink for work and ended up buying ds a spygear remote control spycar and a spygear camera and a golf frisbee game.

DD and DS choose one big pressie each and then get surprises. This year as one of their surprises I am going to do them a small hamper in with their gifts and will order some florist wrap with snowflakes or stars etc.

Dd is getting a pamper hamper and I have already bought some bits to go in it and I am going to look at the Claires 5 for £5 sale.

For DS, because I have done quite well getting him dvds from the cs for 50p and a £1 etc, I am thinking of sticking some popcorn in and giving it as a kids movie hamper.
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
people are really getting on with their lists now, i love reading all the updates/bargains!

after vowing just a couple of weeks ago that i was not buying any more yankee candles, due to the quality going down, i have just purchased a yankee mega pack :o

in my defense its the last ever time to get one and its the cheapest i think its ever been at £17 +£3 del.

also as its old warehouse stock, im thinking the quality may be like it used to be?!

and ive just sold some things on ebay and have money in paypal, so sort of free!

as another point, anything i dont like in there can be added to my mums/mum in laws/dads gf/friends gifts, so technically could be good for xmas gifts :T

ok, i think ive justified it to myself now....... thanks for listening :rotfl:
