Dynamo is amazing! that's a great find :)
  • Not sure if anyone is interested, but I bought sterling silver chains on ebay, they come from China, but quality is good and, depending on length, cost about 50p-£1 each (think it is a pack of 5). Chose pendants to suit the recipient, costing about £1.20-£2.50, so have nice gifts which can be kept for a very reasonable price. I have organza bags for them.

Thinking of getting more and getting my brother to sell them, could easily make 100-150% profit with virtually no effort.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Wow carlamarie you are so organised! You've got some nice gifts on your list there. I am looking forward to receiving my .comgiftshop order! :j

I've been having a think about some presents and i've decided to make 'movie hampers' for my brother and friends who are a couple. Instead of putting a dvd in (as I don't know what they've got) i'm going to get a gift card from Blockbuster so they can go and choose one to watch. Then i'll pop in some popcorn, chocolate/sweets and perhaps a drink to go with it.

I'm also going to make a mini teacup hamper for my auntie, she always drinks her tea from a cup and saucer so i'm going to buy her a pretty one and put in some individually wrapped tea bags, small pack of biscuits (like you get in a hotel), maybe a 3 pack of Ferrero Rocher and a scratch card. I did initially think of making it a pot of gold but thought it might be more apt to put tea related things in.

I love the idea of themed pressies - I did a coffee one last year with some really nice glass and steel coffee cups, speciality fresh coffees, chocolate covered coffee beans, sugar stirrers and deli biscuits on a rattan tea tray. I used shredded purple tissue (use home shredder)and covered with large-roll cellophane plus a huge bow. Very well received gift. Not the cheapest, but god as a special pressie.

The John Greed jewellery I ordered just yesterday morning (MSE expert 50% code on top of major reductions) has just arrived! Fab service Everything beautiful and all boxed in good quality gift boxes so completely ready to wrap and go. Think I might wrap and then put in organza bags so they can be hung on Christmas trees. The only problem now is letting some of these yummy items go as they are all really lovely! £40(ish) well spent and might spound quite a bit but for 11 items that's well under £4 each item for each. Best buy was a Lily Allen fish pendant (gold, silver and crystals) should be about £35, bought for £4.99 reduced price plus 50% off so just £2.50. Mega bargain!! Happy shopping everyone.

Now going to see if there are any Chritmas films on Sky today!

well done Opee! and best of luck with it! :)

Icemice; thanks for the tip on the John greed stuff, sounds lovely - may go have a nosey!

PrincessKitty, I love the sound of the tea hamper, the themed hampers sounds lovely as they are personal so a lot of thought as well :)

I decided to go with Cookie Monster theme for hubby's CE hamper, it's first time ive done them, have DS and DD's, and hubby has a bit of a thing for cookies, if he spots a pack in the cupboard his eyes light up and we tease him about being a Cookie Monster, some lovely CM bits on ebay Im watching :)

re the Adopy A Reindeer, it's still going up, so have logged it with camelcamelcamel, but also have it in my Amazon basket saved, so I assume if I go onto Amazon, put something random in my basket (so it takes you straight to basket and therefore latest price on the reindeer) that won't push the price up by tracking a view would it? not sure how tracking works but assume if I dont actually go to the item page it wouldnt track?
