I have just cut and dyed my hair. Isn't it amazing how something as simple as a quick trim can make you feel so much better about yourself.
I once again feel like a civilised member of the community.:rotfl:

I haven't had mine done in over a year  I have just managed to get a £5 off voucher for supercuts and am going to get it done on Saturday and I cannot wait!!!
The hair dye will have to wait until after the baby is born though irritatingly as I have started to go grey :eek::eek: im just shy of 28 thats not fair!!!

I watched Santa & Pete today, I have watched it the last few years, I really enjoy it very much - I highly recommend it! I can't seem to find it on DVD anywhere except the US region. I watched it on True Movies (recorded yesterday) so it's bound to be repeated soon.

My Baby snowman outfit came today it is absolutely adorable! It is really fluffy!

I am going to buy my Turkey, frozen parsnips, carrots & swede, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, selection boxes & advent calendars over the next week. I want to get in as much as I can in advance :)

All of a sudden we are being bombarded with people wanting to come over and visit - which being hormonal or just plain grumpy is starting to annoy me, they never bothered before but now all of a sudden a baby is due i cant get rid of people. im praying and praying for snow after he is born and we are home from the hospital so that nobody can come :rotfl:

I am still at a complete loss as to what to get hubby from the baby- we have agreed that we are going to spend Christmas day in pjs watching dvds and he has new slippers, dressing gown and all that and will most likely get me some pjs off ebay if possible. But I wanted to get something with Daddy on but not a mug or a photo frame and im at a complete loss. Any suggestions? (£5 budget)

  • What lovely words and so true I guess when things like that happen it really does put things into perspective . Had a few tears when I read your post poor lady and her children but like you say it really makes us appreciate what we have .
Ps very jealous of the sound of your new American style fridge/freezer think of all the christmas goodies you can cram in :)

    Thank you,

It was the first thing hubby wanted to buy for me when he got back as I have suffered fridge envy for years ha ha, anyone who had one I would stare at it and be very envious lol. So when hubby got back he said right now we can afford one we will buy one and hopefully I will stop embarrassing him every time we walked past one in shops such as currys and comet. Yes looking forward to stocking it up full, trouble is think filling it won't be cheap ha ha.

Just got back from sainsburys. Our local store was surprising as shelves were still quite stocked. The only things that seemed to of gone was the tubs of Lego and the big playsets. Lots of Lego friends and disney princess stuff etc. I picked up two items I knew my daughter would love and both were 50% off. I picked up some body shop bits and also into Claire's for hair bits for my daughters stocking

Also picked up some goodies for the Christmas food stash in sainsburys, slowly getting there x

  • Quick question - where do you all store your presents? :)

I've finished buying now. All done for £110 [1.5 weeks wages] so I am happy enough. The problem is storage. I don't really have any spare cupboard space. I was 'hiding' it behind my rocking chair [which is located in a corner] but there is too much to do that now. Given that there are still 9 weeks until Christmas, I think I need to find a home for them lol. :o
  • I've had a few things delivered to work (:o) so have a box under my desk for the time being!!! :D

On top of 2 wardrobes, well out of harms reach! If we had stairs in our loft I would store it up there.

  • I need these too! Thankyou so much for posting... they go so well with my tea bag advent calendar thing... We live near lakeside so have to convince the OH to drop me off there this week :-) - I can hopefully go one night this week if its open late. I'll let you know if they have them in stock as sometimes the website is quicker than the actual store it seems.

Congrats to everyone with babies / grandbabies... will be so lovely for Christmas. All the babies in our family are grown up now so Christmas is 'different' - can't wait for having an excuse to buy cute kids toys and clothes again!

Sorry to hear of those having a hard time at Christmas. There have been some lovely ideas on how you remember your loved ones at Christmas time that I might look into.

Ugh why were these posted?!?! I also need them!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. Thankfully ikea is lovely and close - will go before night shift on friday... suspect I may end up going tomorrow.... or tonight though hahahaha:o

re: the apostrophe. Without knowing more details about the family it refers to it could be in the right place. If there is only one Chumiskey it's in the right place "Christmas at the Chumiskey's house" with the "house" being implied - Christmas at the house that belongs to the Chumiskey. If there are two or more Chumiskeys then it'd be "Christmas at the Chumiskeys' house". (At least that is my understanding - my maiden name ended with an 's').

I sooo want a "we believe" sign!!

    Update:
    I didn't get the job.
The head was very positive and said I was "pipped at the post" but it was "very close". Heyho. Best start looking for some more vacancies... :(
Really hard luck Alislotte!! It is hard isn't it - they often say 'lack of experience' but then you think how am I supposed to get experience without being given a chance (at least that was how I found it). Don't give up hope though. Even though Teachers have to give their notice by the 31st Oct to start a new job in January there will still be some jobs appear after October half term where teachers handed their notice in so late their school couldn't advertise the replacement quick enough. What are you doing at the moment? Have you thought about getting onto a supply list? If you were just pipped to the post how about asking this school's Head whether she would bear you in mind for some supply work.
((hugs)) You will get a job - and you will look back and see that it was all for a reason.

PS Now you watch somewhere I'll have misused an apostrophe!!

Not sure what your OH likes (and am presuming you want something to keep?) but how about:

Glass - our local cobblers engraves glasses so you could get a nice whisky tumbler (or similiar) engraved within your budget

    Paperweight?

    Bottle stopper?

Christmas bauble - think Studio do the personalised ones

Personalised plaque for the garden/ home ? Think I've seen these on ebay for around £3
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!
