i've been lurking on this thread for a while and thanks to everyone's tips have nearly finished my christmas shopping. However I am really stuck on what to buy my parents for Xmas and was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions. They are both in their mid 60's, enjoy travelling they are off for 6 weeks to Australia to visit my sister but they dont take towels, sun cream etc as they can have it all off her and use the space to take out presents etc. They are off to Goa for a month in the new year but have been there several times and lie on a beach for a month. They both have kindles etc and are reasonably comfortable so tend to buy whatever they need or want. We bought them tickets for a show last year, I've done experience days made a scrapbook and I'm really stuck now - any suggestions budget of about £70 but could do a bit more. Any help appreciated.0

I got my Mum a digital photo frame for her 65th Birthday. I have done our family tree and have pictures of her Great Grandparents taken in the 1890s.
It took some time to collect them and get them all (over 400 pictures) in the right order. But it was worth it.
Her best friend took her out one Sunday for lunch, while I went to her house and copied all the photos she had.
She nearly court one of her old work colleagues passing me some photos once. Can't remember what story we came up with to get out of it.0 -
Update:
I didn't get the job.
The head was very positive and said I was "pipped at the post" but it was "very close". Heyho. Best start looking for some more vacancies...0 -

Someone I worked with found a deal on the Aussie travel zoo site for a meal for him and his daughter (who lives out there) for when he went over to visit her earlier this year. Might be worth having a look (hope the link works)

Sorry about the job aliaslotte, DH has been looking for about 7 months now and had quite a few interviews - just finally got offered a temp position last night and now it looks like he might get at least one other offer (he has 4 interviews this week). So hang in there, it will happen.0

More jobs should start appearing after half term (think half a term is the amount of notice teachers have to give still) Stick a Christmas movie on and grab a mug of hot chocolate to cheer you up xx0 -
am really sorry you didnt get this one aliaslotte *hugs* and Im sure the right job is out there waiting for you, as Own My Own says
Possession am so pleased for your DH, must be a lovely smiley day in your house! x0 -
Oo I saw those bags in Ikea last night, thought they were a good average party bag size. I did resist them though as I don't think I'd find a good use for them.
Have fallen in love with a Christmas tree in M&S, don't usually go for this kind of thing, but it looked lovely in store, the website picture doesn't do it justice. It would look lovely in my newly decorated living room, but OH isn't convinced.. Yet! I can't link but its the 6ft Contemporary Gold Effect Leaf Winter Tree on their website.
To further burst my bubble, logged into my credit card earlier to pay some off and found that my available credit was only £300. Rang them to query it and it seems someone has gone and treated themselves this morning to currency, building supplies, new specs, and something to the tune of £600 from Currys online! Now have to wait for forms to fill in and new credit card etc, such a nuisance! :mad:0 -

In case anyone hasn't been able to pick up a boots gift guide (like me!) , there's one online
ETA: wish I could have a look but my boss lady doesn't believe in Christmas chat before Dec 1st and she can see my computer screen from where she sits:rotfl:0
