  • Hot chocolate at the ready & im going to catch up since yesterdays posts, but just wanted to let you all know whilst picking up pjs in primark today i happened across their christmas candles. I was a little apprehensive as they are sooooo cheap (£1-£4) but i decided to treat myself as a change from my glade spiced apple. I can thoroughly recommend them! I have the boughs of holly (£1) burning right now & its beautiful! A real outdoorsy christmassy scent, I also have the cinnemon stick reed defuser but havent opened it yet as were away next week so dont want to waste a weeks worth! it smells gorgeous though, great little treats that wont break the bank.
I also finally got the bayliss & harding gingerbread shower creme, cant wait to try it out in the morning!

I like you love the glade spiced apple so I may try the primark ones such a bargain at those prices :xmassmile

For those who have not been to a Home Bargains before, I can report back that it has the same stuff as a Pound Stretcher store.
    :xmassign:

I hate to sound awful but I don't think that statement is true at all. They don't sell any of the same stock , Apart from food and toiletry items (Which tend to be the same in all 'bargain type' stores'.
Pound stretcher is also much more expensive. They don't stock the same toys or gift sets or xmas items, or well...Anything really.
Would you mind telling me what you saw that was the same in home bargains?
You can tell just by going on both websites that they don't stock the same things. Like I said I don't mean to sound rude at all but I think it may mislead people who haven't been to a HB before...
I got my baskets from Dunelm Mill. I also saw some in Home Bargains in Chelmsford for £6 yesterday. They were lined with red fabric.

Are you sure? These red lined baskets in home bargains are £3.99 , Not £6. They are £3.99 in every home bargains I have been in *confused*

On My Own - Sorry you felt upset over your dads comments :( It would be quite upsetting for anyone to hear a gift theyve put thought and effort into isn't wanted. Hopefully he was just being grumpy, My dad says things like that all the time but in reality I've just caught him on a 'grumpy dad' day and he would generally love anything I got him. :)
But if he is really serious, which must be frustrating for you, May i suggest you make him a jar or nothing instead? ;)

SugarSpun and Nic - So sorry to hear about your losses :( I hope you are both feeling Ok .

moneysavingmumofone - I bought DS two of the primark xmas jumpers too on tuesday! The blue snowman one and the red santa one, They both gorgeous and great for £9.
Also I loved the Mens xmas jumpers, They are twice the quality of the womens one but for the same price. I promptly put my Womens santa one back and bought myself a mans one ,And it even has a pom pom red nose on it! :D
If anyone else is going to get a xmas jumper from primark, I can recommend getting the mens ones instead enough, Theyre far, far superior in my opinion and are actually a better fit. I'm a 14 and the mens the mens medium is a perfect fit :)
Also I asked about boys xmas pjs cause they have loads of girls ones but NO boys at all, and they said theyre getting the boys ones in the next two weeks :j HTH.

Phew.. Finally caught up on the past 22 pages I've missed!
I feel like I'm getting somewhere with xmas now.
Went shopping on tuesday and pretty much got everything for both my brother and sister. Got DS's dads gifts as well from DS. Picked up christmas with the kranks and deck the halls dvd for 99p each! :D Got both mine and DS's xmas jumpers and 'Mr Christmas tshirt for my mums partner for £6 from primark as well.

Also If anyone is interested B&M have got this in for £4.49

The picture is actually beautiful up close , Its 1000 pieces and brilliant quality. I'm not usually into things like this but I couldn't resist and I'm really looking farward to cold December nights at the kitchen table doing it whilst watch a Christmas movie!

Perhaps the baskets seen for £6 in home bargains were these, as posted previously by someone wanting to use one as their xmas eve hamper (sorry forgot who by!)

Are they large? The £3.99 ones are fairly decent sized but the only reason I can think of them being dearer is if there are two sizes? They're definitely £3.99 in my local, and in the other 5 close by stores, Everywhere you turn round here there's a HB within 15 mins :rotfl:

  • emalou88-We usually have something new to wear on christmas day, its the only occasion in the year where we have an excuse to glam up lol. This year it will be our christmas jumpers. :D

Rosygirl-Hope you are keeping ok. :) Loving the military precision of the kids christmas lists! :D

my3girls-Good luck for tomorrow at the hospital, hope you get some answers! Tell your DH to stop being a scrooge tut! Im lucky that my OH thinks the christmas jumpers are great and was rifling through to get DS' size. :rotfl:

    msgigglewick-LOVE the scarf, you're so talented! :)

Snugglebunny8-I had to put a PENNY on a card once in Asda, I was one penny short of cash lol!!

    riskyb-The choc hamper sounds great!!

Ameyturtle-I have a near identical gingerbread man mug that I got from HB from last year, its my fave mug. :) HB had christmas mugs for 39p last year, not as good quality as the 99p mugs but perfectly fine for snowman soup!

bossymoo-Even if they dont quite 'get' it yet Im sure they'll love all the elfs funny antics. :) So so sorry about your DH. :( xxx

    MrsDrink-Reindeer cardigan definitely! :)

OwnMyOwn-Those tubs are lovely!! I didnt see them in my 99p store yesterday but it is really small. :(

kellyhghs-Ive seen those coca cola trays mentioned a few times now, really hope my Poundland has them as ive been after one for ages. :)

I was feeling rubbish last night and couldnt sleep so was sat on the floor in my cupboard sorting out my christmas boxes at 1am. :rotfl: It looked completely the same afterwards but I felt better. :D

  • Sorry I can't quote on my phone but my3girls yes they're the ones I saw. Perfect size but I need about 5 so I wee bit expensive. It's like the holy grail for me trying to find the right bloomin basket at the minute :)
