Just checking everyone knows about these WH Smith book bundles - some great choices.

Delivery free for orders over £15

These book bundles are amazing. I bought quite a few last year and intend to do the same again. You might get some duplicates but all good for the prezzy cupboard!

Oooooooh what is this "limoncello"? Sounds delicious!

It's an Italian Lemon liquer. I made it last year to mixed reviews. I personally didn't like it, and it was 50/50 Love or hate it!

I made it by making a lemon juice/sugar syrup, then adding this to vodka and shaking for a few weeks as other flavoured vodkas. I added the rind of the lemons too then strained them off for extra lemon taste although the recipie didn't say to do that!

As PoppyGirl says it's a lemon liqueur - personally I love it so hoping my batch is on the 50% love it side :D

    I'm using this recipe

    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1087/limoncello

The key to drinking it is to serve it really, really cold - mine will be poured straight from the freezer - it's delicious that way

Also I know you are the people to help me with this!: I'm driving a two hour round trip to pick up my brother at after he finishes work at 1am Christmas morning:eek:, I plan to have the Christmas tunes blaring but also perhap dress up! I know someone earlier said they were going to wear a Penguin onsie in the car to pick up their OH -but I really couldn't wear a onsie with the size of my backside!!! What other things could I dress up as?! Or should I just go for Christmas jammies?! Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    Fairy on the Christmas tree?
Reindeer ears and a face-painted face?
Snowman (white clothes - padded out) with a carrot nose?

    Will keep thinking :)
  • Hi spacecadet1 I don't know whether these would be any good for...

I can't post a link :( but if you go on Etsy and search 'Lego slippers' there is some lovely Lego inspired knitted slippers :)
  • I'm really taken with the elf idea. There's only me and DH but it looks like fun and I think he'd find it funny!

Own my own - thats a great blog with loads of ideas on it.

I think I'm going to pop into town tomorrow (my day off) just to have a mooch. As I tend to take ages when I'm there and DH gets annoyed with me. I much prefer shopping on my own :)

I'm going to get those tartan pj bottoms and some fleece pj's. Get FIL the hornby book from the works and have a mooch round the poundshops, B&M, HB's etc.

Does any have a special outfit for Christmas day? I've always had a new outfit for Christmas day - it was part of our present from our Parents :) and I've carried on the tradition myself. Just wandered if anyone else bought an outfit especially for Christmas day :)

You could iron them on plain slippers. Or tack them on.

Hello, just wanted to say a big thank you for all the messages of support and condolence after the death of my mother. Although we don't know each other in the real world, it still means so much to know that other people are there for us when we need it. :)

I haven't felt very Christmassy just lately, but I have started to think I need to get myself sorted again.
Last year, DS1 'bought' DS3 one of these in blue, then decided that he wanted one as well, so I got the orange one for him and this one for DS2, who is football mad. I know they are expensive but I love the sense of fun and they are well made.

DS2 & 3 are taking making their lists to Santa to the exteme- it seems to be involving lots of online research and catalogue browsing, as well as notes before the main list is produced! :rotfl:
Goodness knows what will end up on the finished list!

Hope you are all well today. xx

Hello, sorry I've not been able to respond indiviually to people but I've been trying to keep up with reading, you all continue to inspire me with gifts, and warm my heart with your thoughfulness.

Congratulations to the new babies and condolences to those who have lost loved ones recently.

I know a way back someone asked about a grown ups' snowman soup. In my experience the big kids love the normal version too - but I'm going to make a version in mugs from NOTHS (link from here thank you!) then put in the packets of chocolate and marshmallows but then a posher chocolate bar than the kids christmas decoration they get. T has Quality street big purple one bars on 3 for £1 I think, so I'll get something like that or a handful of Roses from a big tub. I'll then cello the mugs up.

I have a few adults that don't like hot choc so I'm going to do coffee but I'm on the look out for nice sashets of coffee to add. B&M have Kenko individual sachets but it doesn't look very exciting! I'd appreciate if anybody sees any they'd let me know!

Id go for christmas pyjamas and a reindeer/antler headband! Maybe add some christmas earrings lol! Festive but easy enough to remove so you can sink straight into bed when you get in! :xmastree:
