I want to decorate the hamper with them :rotfl:
  • BIG thankyou to everyone who replied about moshi monster girls pjs. Wednesday cant come quick enough, its my only day off this week and i plan to finish my xmas shopping, yes, completely finish! so its off to primark or tesco for pjs, hb and poundland for a few more stocking fillers, check out the market as i want 3 bags and purses for eldest 3 girls, theyre all getting a bit of money and i thought little bags & purses would make it a more exciting gift than money wallets. Ive got argos delivering a few bits to work for me thurs, and mil present is waiting to be collected from sorting office (grrr, having to work full time makes online shopping/delivary soooo difficult). Dh wants to cook this year, so im leaving all the food shopping to him - with a warning that he best remeber pigs in blankets! Im gonna sit for an hour now & make sure there is nothing else i need to buy. Were away for 2 weeks, and then im booked to do a lot of overtime late nov/early dec, so i need to make sure im organised. already looking forward to my annual wrapping day (first wkend dec), michael buble xmas cd, rose wine and lots of sticky tape and ribbon!

Wow you are going to have a busy day on wed!
I like the sound of that wrapping day

  • People are weird........ earlier this year, decided to throw my OH a little at home birthday BBQ with cake and a piñata. I invited both my family and his-it was the first time we had them all together- His grand parents reaction to being invited to this was:

'Why? its not a special birthday, you must just like messing about'

    I was floored!
People are weird...my MIL, as much as I love her, is a strange character. She loves her dog more than her children and grandchildren, my OH said she has always been like this and him and his brother had this all through there childhood...she won't put the dog in a kennel for 3 days over Xmas as he 'wouldn't like it' so she isn't coming to spend christmas with us this year, I have dared tell the kids yet as they will be devastated...her dog is also a nightmare, last christmas it nearly bite both of our kids twice, and she doesn't do anything, I had to ask her to take him outside...but she wouldn't come back in until the dog was allowed back in! I feel bad as I put my foot down and banned the dog, so now she isn't coming..but I'm not having my kids frightened to be in there own home.
Sorry rant over! Back to Christmas happy chats now! :T:xmastree::rudolf:

    Seriously??????
    :rotfl:
Yes seriously :). I know 25 isn't a milestone birthday, but I thought it was a nice idea to get all the people that love you in a place together.
They are always like this, OH is sometimes. They must think I come from another planet being all excited for birthdays and even more excited for Christmas :rotfl:

I really can't see why people can't see that you do it because you love that person and love to see your family.....as much as I love receiving presents, my favourite part of christmas is watching people's faces when they open the ones I have given them ...that's one reason why my kids have silly present for their stockings and we give them their main presents...I don't want Santa getting all the credit..how ever now my DD has said she wants colouring stuff from Santa, so that's very doable for a stocking!:T

OnMyOwn i feel for you. love the idea of hamper plus humbugs. he obviously likes cheese and pickles. maybe find/create a gift-giving/receiving etiquette book to go with them. hehe.

Ameyturtle hope your first day went well and am a bit jealous! would love to work in lovely smelly lush shop concocting things. like a mad chemist.

MrsDrink i sympathise, i used to live in the middle of nowhere! still live on the outskirts of a fairly small town, but thankfully they decided to build a primark. at any given point about 40% of the town are actually in primark, it is all we have

i feel very fortunate this evening. bought a couple of xmas magazines and some choccy tonight, and OH brought the decorations down from the loft so we can see if there's anything we need to buy! there isn't :o but love him for humouring me. and now our bathroom is full of baubles!

already looking forward to my annual wrapping day (first wkend dec), michael buble xmas cd, rose wine and lots of sticky tape and ribbon!

I tried that once, with a bottle of white, and my White Christmas DVD.

:rotfl: I drank to much wine and had to rewrap half the presents the following weekend.:rotfl:

My head wouldn't let me do it the following day:o
