    hi all,
photobox seem to have a 50% of canvas at the moment that ends tomorrow. Thinking of getting canvas prints of our pictures for the OH for xmas. I wld have to order these unseen as the offer ends tomorrow. Has anyone ever ordered either the canvas lite or classic canvas prints (especially the larger ones)? and what was the quality like?
    thanks

  • I can not believe the prices of that m&s food.. seriously. 24 sausage rolls for £12? why not get some puff pastry and make your own with little star shapes on.. heck of a lot cheaper. as for the rest of it :S

glad it isnt just me then! I do think the food ordering must work for people who have a big family or party to cater for or need a huge turkey, but for us it always works out much cheaper to get stuff in store, eg the turkey crown for 8 is normally about £22 in store but seems to be so much more on the food ordering? and 24 sausage rolls for £12 seems a bit mad - you get a pack of 12 for £2.49 - 2.79 which I don't mind paying as they are the best in terms of quality and you get them as part of 3 for 2 on their party food, I just don't get it! there is a Christmas pudding for order, don't know how big it is admittedly, but it seems to be 5 times the price you just get one for in store! is it me missing the point about the sizes or something?? :rotfl:
  • From looking on camelcamelcamel it appears that this tin has been down too£2.89 in the past. I have posted a watch on it so hopefully goes down to under 5 pounds. will let everybody know if it does as its a great quirky xmas gift

Thanks for that, I wasn't that happy with paying what it is at the moment! It was cheaper when I first saw it!
princesskitty29-I love all the stuff in that range, I have several notebooks on my amazon wishlist! Love the 'evil plans and stuff' one. :D

Ahhhh just noticed the christmas stuff is online at halfcost!! :Dhttp://www.halfcost.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=11&catalogId=10001&categoryId=10401&top=Y&showSubCategory=no

I love the evil plans book too! I'm desperately trying to think who it would be a good present for!!

Thanks for the heads up on half cost too, will keep an eye on it! :)

I once had a very important meeting where I was complaint about treatment my DS was receiving (more like not receiving) . There were doctors, psychologists , psychiatrists and the like all up against little ol me. It was only when I was on my way home (after being proved right). That i realised I had everything written in my 'Evil Plans and Stuff" notebook. They must of all read the cover and thought "we've got a right one here!"

Please don't feel like anyone has to justify what they spend, I was just saying that for me I was shocked, it was the first year I had ever seen their food and wasn't quite prepared for what I saw.
We know we all have different budgets and do what we can within those :) nobody should feel the need to justify where from or what they buy - especially to me who spent £12 on a penguin onesie for me and £5 for a penguin onesie for the baby so we could match ROFL!!!!

I got a £5 amazon voucher from a survey site yesterday and ordered 2 ww christmas cookbooks im hoping to get further inspiration from those regarding what we eat this year. They were a bit of a naughty buy but 2 for just over £3 but cost me nothing effectively. :rotfl:

I am seriously considering the tesco frozen £5 turkey roll type thing.
I will probably buy it on payday in 2 weeks time just so i have the peace of mind they dont sell out!

Just wanted to say don't be too put off by price of their food to order, some of it is huge and you would normally buy smaller packs/portions in store - eg I do buy theirt prawn cocktails at Christmas and I serve a spoonful with the smoked salmon for starter - one tub is 2.99, the £15 tub is probably an enormous one Im guessing, as one small tub does 4 starters easily. They do a big pack, like a whole side, of smoked salmon in December which is always half price for 2 weeks, its usually 6.99 I think, it lasts 4 of use for days and it's beautiful quality

I get the crown for 8 people, which costs about £22, it does for 2 full roast dinners, and still leaves cold cuts - I do buy their luxury gravy and their sausages with bacon and the chesnut and pork stuffing as Im rubbish at those how ever hard I try and even with Jamie O's help!

I save survey vouchers and points rewards all year too and put a little bit away each month, so its my December treat too :D I have to say quality wise it is always great. They do do a small joint of turkey or chicken etc, which is for 2 - 4 which is about £4-5 I think if that helps for smaller families.

    Thanks BJD
I just looked at tesco webiste and they also have half price canvases and they seem to be much cheaper thank photobox. And have your canvases from tesco's kept well over the years?

  • mumofone I've noticed eBay also is NOT a cheap option for then, scandolous prices they go for!

Been having a look at the m&s food and very disappointed. Not a single veggie starter which is silly and pretty steep prices for other parts I would think of getting. It looks nice but I'm alittle underwhelmed!
