Morning all,
Woke up singing frosty the snowman
Hoping to get some of the chocolate satsumas from tesco at some point. Dad used to have a satsuma in his stocking as a kid so thought that would be a nice memory of him.
Doing quite well with the Christmas shopping. Done most of my side of the family just got DH's side to do but have seen a few things ready for that. He always leaves his shopping to the last moment. Seen a beer making kit in wilko for his Stepdad and a hornby train book in the works for his Dad.
DH won a case of 6 bottles of wine earlier in the year in a raffle at work so thats done a lot of the ladies with a few added extras
Also saw a Star Wars tin in wilko which I want to get for DH and fill with sweets for him.
Also thinking about doing my Brother a retro sweet tin and have started a car washing/ car safety hamper for him.
Got my Mum the Radley wellies and a Radley mug. It's an ongoing joke that for every Birthday I get everyone a present 'from the dog.'(usually my Mum, Dad, Bro and DH) but the gift always has to be dog themed. So far I've done scottie shortbread, felt dog brooch, dog shaped choc, dog cookie cutter, a dog keyring and a dog shaped duster.
So this year Mum's having the Radley mug off the dog and a glittery photo frame with a picture of the dog in
This year I'm going to have to take my Brother shopping and help him with his shopping. With his injuries he can't get around freely and has to use a wheelchair. It's quite good though as one I get to do 2 lots of shoppingand two you can hang the bags on the wheelchair or he can sit with them on his knee
Carrying the bags are the one thing that put me off shopping!
I managed to get some peppermint hot choc in a tin last year from TKmaxx so am hoping they do that again this year.
Do any of you know what you want for Christmas?0 -
Would also like to say I'm so glad Chirpychicks ok - I'd been worrying. Hope all the pregnant ladies are having 'nice' pregnancies0

Oh sorry - forgot to say - if anyone lives near a The Factory Shop, I went in the Brandon one and they had glass kilner jars, large and small for £2/£3 each. I thought that was not a bad price x0

Crowdpleaser - great ideas - thank you! I toyed witht he idea of making some chilli vodka with the left over chillis to make up a kind of russian roulette shot game but don't want to be seen to be promoting drinking if oyu see what I mean!!
Ellie9ellie - well it sounds great but who knows how they'll turn out!! I think they may be too bumpy if you know what I mean and I don't want them to look rubbishOH's nieces and nephews are quite well off so I don't want them to think they look silly!
Anything anyone has taken the time out to make, in my opinion, is excellent. If someone has taken time and effort to make something it is always better than shop bought. I make my own cards and friends used to tease me that I'd be making Christmas cards in August - but they all loved having them and some friends have kept them and bring them out every year which makes me feel really good x0 -

Pampered Chef do one (I've got one) but they are about £30. Takes a lot of trifle to fill it - looks fab though x0 -
Amanda65 - Woah! Great minds and all that!! I think chilli vodka is a great idea. What bottles do you use? Do you reuse the vodka bottle and just take off the label?
I made toffee vodka years ago and just tipped a bit out into another bottle and topped it up but want to do something a bit more 'festive' as it's for a gift so am currently looking for bottle ideas. Ideally I would like to give them both two smaller bottles each - maybe one toffee and one Skittles.0 -

I'm really disappointed on the xmas front today. I went to a rather large Home bargains in Leigh ,It isn't close by and is actually a fairly lengthy trip away but I was in the area anyway for an appointment and they didn't have the Rudolph scene it
I was all excited thinking I'd definitely get it from there because its the type of home bargains that in the past if i've not been able to find something another one has, that one has never failed me even though its quite far away. I asked and the guy said they had no plans to get it either as it is store specific *sulk*:(:(.
I know i still have two months to get one, but I'm being childish and I want it NOW *stamps foot* :rotfl:
Anyway, just posting to let Damzel and anyone else local to me know that Wigan Home Bargains - the one near Robin Retail Park, just off Saddle Junction, has the Rudolph Scene It in - we went on Monday and they had about 12 on the shelf. Like Damzel's already posted, there's none in Leigh, I also checked Platt Bridge and the one in Wigan Town Centre and neither of them have it either - I haven't ventured further afield, sorry. I was doing exactly the same though, proper sulking that I wanted it NOW! Have got it now anyway so on to the next MUST haveI'm umming and aahing about the Rudolph Monopoly but just can't spare £20 at the minute
Good luck to all the expectant Mummies, hope Pip's Mum is doing ok, she was due her section yesterday wasn't she? Perhaps DFW has her bubba now too... Glad to hear Chirpy's feeling happier... Safe deliveries to all imminent babies and quick recoveries to all Mummies!
*back to lurking but will keep an eye out for any info re the Bents meet up* xxxAll horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Off to get car MOT later, and ive just found out, that its on a retail park, and guess what shop they have...THE RANGE! never ever been in one, is there anything im looking out for? lol
Managed to get a few more stocking fillers for DH & DD, im on the look out for xmas themed drinking straws, ive seen some, but £3 bit too expensive for xmas eve boxes....
Im also thinking of doing a joint 'cosy night in' hamper for our two close friends (husband & wife) her fave drink in hot choc, so i thought snowman soup, his is coffee...anything i could do with that?
Also, has anybody got any ideas of what else i can put in it, they have a lovely open log fire and love all things cosy, so i thought this would be a good idea, but obviously i dnt want to make it too girly as its for both. looking to spend around £15 max.
I would also like some ideas for a biscuit themed hamper, for thier biscuit mad son!(whos 13) & maybe a girly hamper for thier daughter (whos 9) £10 each budget:)
Thankyou......:D:D0
